Circuit Court is the highest level of trial court in Arkansas. As the current presiding Circuit Judge in the 16th Judicial District, I handle complex civil litigation, probate, decedent's estates, felony criminal, and family law cases.
My duties chiefly include conducting court in an efficient and professional manner which affords every litigant respect, dignity, and a generous opportunity to be fully heard.
I have been a Circuit Judge for 10 years in this judicial district. Previously, I was the Prosecuting Attorney, and for 22 years a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. I have operated a private practice specializing in complex civil litigation and oil and gas law. I have tried over 125 jury trials to verdict and have extensive courtroom experience.
I have reduced the time it takes to be placed on the docket for jury trial from over 2 years to less than 6 months by changing the docketing. The challenges in our immediate future include the responsible use of artificial intelligence by litigants, cyber security, and technology in the courtroom.
