A Circuit Judge must uphold and apply the Constitution and the laws of the State of Arkansas with equity and justice and fairness to all. A Circuit Judge hears felony criminal cases, divorces and custody cases, adoptions, guardianship, probate, civil, property, and other cases. A Circuit Judge must make rulings on evidence and procedure according to the Arkansas rules of evidence and civil procedure. He must listen carefully to all relevant evidence and witnesses and apply the law to the facts with wisdom and discernment. A good Judge is patient but firm, kind but just. He must efficiently manage his docket and staff so that cases get heard expeditiously. He must enforce his orders and hold people accountable when they do not.
For more than 17 years I have been a trial lawyer in Conway Arkansas handling thousands of cases all over the state of Arkansas. I have handled all of the types of cases that a Circuit Judge is called upon to hear. I have tried jury trials and handled appeals. I have carefully prepared youth and children to testify and handled and prepared all types of evidence and witnesses. I have selected juries and handled voir dire. I have represented husbands and wives, children and grandparents, property owners and small business owners. I have been a small business owner and father and grandfather and know the challenges everyday Arkansans face. My wife Amy and I have been married for 27 years and raised seven children and have two grandchildren.
I don't believe this to be a change but I will work hard for those I serve and give 100% to the job with integrity and civility.
