I support constitutional checks and balances by enforcing separation of powers, restoring strong congressional oversight, and limiting unelected bureaucracies. Texans deserve laws made by elected representatives, respect for states’ rights, and a federal government accountable to voters—not agencies or special interests.
A legislator’s duty is to protect free speech and peaceful assembly for all, regardless of viewpoint. Texans should never fear government retaliation for lawful expression. Protecting these rights ensures open debate, accountability, and trust between citizens and their government.
Congress should use tariffs strategically to protect American workers, manufacturing, and supply chains, including industries critical to South Texas. With proper oversight, tariffs can strengthen U.S. competitiveness, reduce dependence on foreign adversaries, and avoid unnecessary costs for families and small businesses.
Reliable, affordable energy is essential for South Texas families, jobs, and small businesses. Congress should support domestic oil, gas, and nuclear production, strengthen grid and pipeline infrastructure, and encourage responsible innovation—protecting our environment without raising costs or threatening local livelihoods.
The federal government should focus on access, affordability, and transparency—not one-size-fits-all mandates. Congress should lower costs by increasing competition, price transparency, and support for local providers, while protecting patient choice. Healthy communities start with affordable care, strong local systems, and individual freedom.
