I was involved in successful challenges to discriminatory voting schemes by the state, including involvement in voter-ID litigation and redistricting litigation. I've served as a Committee Director and Clerk for the State House. During law school, I was with minority counsel for the Congressional House Oversight & Government Reform Committee. As the Associate Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League, I managed hate-crime/incident intake for half the state and was one of the only attorneys in the region to successfully gain entry into a immigration child-detention center fighting to unify separated children. I’ve worked with every-level of government for our communities, bringing both legal and executive‑level governance expertise.
There are a number of issues where we can build on the progress of the current county attorney: (1) Reform the Children's Protective Services and Department of Family Services divisions to ensure transparency and the best scenarios for children in CPS, protecting parents rights whenever possible; (2) Expand our capacity to protect neighborhoods and residents, including creating a portal where residents can submit complaints for potential investigation; (3) Create a new division to handle the increase in civil rights complaints; (4) Create an immigrants know-your-rights program and a portal where residents can upload evidence of law enforcement (ICE) misconduct; (5) Improve transparency and public access to all services in the office.

Harris County Attorney
I'm the only candidate with both trial and judicial experience. I earned my J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and have dedicated my career to serving Harris County. As Judge of Civil Court at Law No. 1, I've presided over thousands of civil cases mirroring the County Attorney's daily work. Before the bench, I was an Asst. Attorney General overseeing civil litigation and a Sr. Trial Attorney where I tried over 50 jury trials. My experience as in-house counsel managing 50+ staff prepared me to lead the County Attorney's 300+ employees. This combination of civil litigation expertise, trial skills, judicial perspective, and governmental experience has prepared me to represent Harris County and fight for all residents from day one.
Harris County faces relentless attacks from right-wing extremists trying to undermine our government, suppress voters, and overturn the people's will. From Abbott to Paxton to Trump, we're a prime target facing illegal election interference, school district takeovers, and attacks on our officials. As County Attorney, I'll fiercely defend Harris County in court and publicly, fighting voter suppression, protecting elections and officials, and challenging state overreach. Corporate polluters are poisoning our communities, especially working-class neighborhoods. Chemical facilities, creosote, and concrete batch plants countywide create cancer clusters. I'll aggressively sue violators, challenge weak permits, and force cleanup.
