Occupation Attorney
I bring more than sixteen years of legal experience and am Board Certified in Child Welfare Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. I have represented children, parents, and the Department of Family and Protective Services in all aspects of litigation, including serving as first chair in jury trials. This broad experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the legal and human issues before the court. I have also completed extensive training on the effects of trauma on brain development, which informs my decision-making in child welfare and juvenile matters. I am committed to fairness, thoughtful consideration of the law and facts, and ensuring all parties are heard.
Two of the most pressing issues I will face are maintaining an efficient docket and ensuring strict adherence to the law while serving the best interests of children. Timely resolution is critical in both child welfare and juvenile delinquency cases, where delays can cause real harm. I plan to work closely with court staff and attorneys to keep cases moving efficiently and to ensure the court's schedule promotes fairness and accountability. Equally important, I am committed to faithfully applying the law. I will continue my long-standing membership in the Texas Bar College and prioritize ongoing education in statutory and case law so that my judicial decisions are guided by current law, consistency, and sound legal judgment.
