Family District Court (Juv) Judge, District 313
District courts are trial courts of general jurisdiction of Texas. They have original jurisdiction in felony criminal cases, divorce cases, cases involving title to land, election contest cases, civil matters in which the amount of money or damages involved is $200 or more, and any matters in which jurisdiction is not placed in another trial court. The courts may specialize in civil, criminal, juvenile, or family law matters. Four-year term.

As a Native Houstonian, I bring more than twenty years of legal experience dedicated to juvenile and family law, adoptions, and matters affecting children and families. Since 2019, I have served as Judge of the Harris County Juvenile Detention Court, presiding over cases that require careful application of the law, respect for due process, and thoughtful consideration of public safety and rehabilitation.
I am known for being fair, prepared, patient, and consistent—qualities essential for a Judge overseeing Child Protective Services cases and juvenile delinquency matters. My background, combined with my commitment to integrity and impartiality, equips me to serve effectively as Judge of the 313th District Court.
In addition to presiding in the Juvenile Detention Court, I also preside in at least one of the three Juvenile Courts each week, including the 313th District Court.
The 313th Juvenile District Court handles cases that directly impact child safety, family stability, and community well-being. Delays or inconsistencies can have lasting consequences for children and families. My plan is to prioritize efficient docket management, preparedness from all parties, and clear communication in the courtroom to ensure cases move forward without unnecessary delay while protecting due process and the rights of all involved. I plan to apply the law and individualized assessments to determine what services, rehabilitation or interventions are appropriate.
