Criminal District Court Judge, District 262

District courts are trial courts of general jurisdiction of Texas. They have original jurisdiction in felony criminal cases, divorce cases, cases involving title to land, election contest cases, civil matters in which the amount of money or damages involved is $200 or more, and any matters in which jurisdiction is not placed in another trial court. The courts may specialize in civil, criminal, juvenile, or family law matters. Four-year term.

Occupation Judge
I have served as judge of the 262nd District Court for the past 7 years. I am a licensed attorney with over 30 years experience. Prior to assuming the bench I practiced law in both State and Federal Courts.
1) Access to mental health services & treatment- Investing in mental health to address public safety concerns. I have served as a co presiding judge of the competency restoration docket and currently the mental health liaison in the Harris County felony criminal division. Specific plans are to continue & increase the number of mental health forums in communities regarding mental health services available and expand the courts mental health docket with more information about community resources. 2) Youth violence - Continue the initiative with Tackling Crime in the Red Zone and the NFL Houston Alumni Houston Chapter & NFL Players Assoc. Houston Chapter to educate and motivate youth.
