As one of original innovators of immunotherapy of cancer, I know what it's like to lead for positive change. The constituents of District 9 need better affordable health care options and with my decades of experience in the health care field I am uniquely qualified to deliver that. As a local business founder and owner, I also understand how to better promote the success of our home industries. I have multiple children in local public schools giving me insights into improving safety and core curriculum. Finally, my education in computer science and in foreign affairs with a Russia concentration have prepared me to meet the challenges of Artificial Intelligence policy as well as the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Our government has failed to deliver health care that is accessible and affordable and continuing to "kick the can down the road" will soon bankrupt us. I propose a smarter approach to health care where the government focuses on PREVENTING people from getting sick through a universal wellness plan and then insurance is available at a lower cost for those that do become ill across a spectrum of budgets with coverage for pre-existing conditions. This plan would be complemented by focused boosting of the NIH medical research budget to accelerate cures for the most prevalent and debilitating illnesses. A second critical issue is access to high quality public education for which we have an innovative plan covering birth to graduation.

I have spent my life creating jobs in my business career as well as preparing students for the workforce. I have decades of real-world business experience and community service in this district, a place that I have been blessed to call home for my entire life. For 35 years, I ran Mims Meat Company, a family business that achieved over $50 million in annual sales, served thousands of clients, and provided hundreds of jobs in our community. I have been a member of the Board of Trustees at San Jacinto College for over 20 years, and I’m honored to currently serve as its chairman. I am proud to say that during that time, San Jacinto College has grown to become the number two community college in the country, according to the Aspen Institute.
As a businessman, I want to eliminate government policies that hold back great ideas and kill good businesses. I will work to end the reckless spending, waste, and irresponsible debt levels that have been driving up prices. I will advocate for pro-growth policies that will create good paying jobs that can support a family and allow our young people to benefit from home ownership and live the American Dream

I will be a tireless advocate for public safety. We need more Border Patrol, better technology, and must finish building the wall. We also need more enforcement to remove criminal aliens who have been bringing drugs and crime into our communities. It's time to get the criminal gangs and the cartel out of our communities.

I bring nearly two decades of executive-level experience in business development and operations, leading teams, managing complex initiatives, and delivering results in high-accountability environments. I currently serve in elected local office, where I have hands-on experience in governance, budget oversight, infrastructure, and constituent representation. My training in executive leadership and behavioral analysis strengthens my ability to evaluate complex issues, lead decisively, and communicate effectively. I am results-driven, service-oriented, and grounded in real-world experience, not theory.
The two most pressing issues are economic security and public safety. I will focus on lowering costs for working families by supporting policies that strengthen domestic energy production, protect critical infrastructure, and expand good-paying jobs tied to ports, manufacturing, and skilled trades. On public safety, I will advocate for stronger border enforcement, support law enforcement, and oppose policies that weaken community safety. My approach is practical and results-driven: securing supply chains, protecting the grid, and ensuring laws are enforced so families and businesses can thrive.
