I am uniquely qualified to represent Texas’ CD9 because I am a product of this district; raised here, shaped by its communities and deeply connected to the people who live and work here. Growing up as an immigrant in CD9, I understand firsthand the challenges families face with healthcare, jobs, and safe neighborhoods.
For over 15+ years, I’ve worked in environmental advocacy & public health, holding polluters accountable and bringing community voices to policymakers, including DC to strengthen air pollution standards. I am a Rice University Community Fellow, serve on the Keep Houston Clean Commission, volunteer with Food Not Bombs, and mentor youth through HERO. I am bilingual and committed to community-driven, transparent policy.
EVERYDAY AFFORDABILITY: With rising costs of everyday necessities like groceries, families are having to make hard decisions about big investments like healthcare and housing. I will focus on raising wages, creating quality local jobs, expanding access to health and childcare, and ensuring residents near the port and industrial corridor can access higher-paying positions.
KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON AND THE WATER RUNNING: From Hurricane Harvey, to the Derecho, I want to ensure that our infrastructure is prepared to take care of you. From aging pipes, power lines, freeways and more, our district should feel safe in their homes. I will address by holding our infrastructure to a higher standard and expanding disaster preparedness.

I bring over twenty years of experience in public health, education, and public policy, with training as an epidemiologist and health educator. My work has focused on helping communities understand how laws and public policy affect their health, access to services, and overall well-being. I have managed federally funded programs, ensured regulatory compliance, and partnered with community and Faith-based organizations to address mental health, healthcare access, and basic needs. I am analytical, collaborative, and community-centered, with a strong commitment to evidence-based decision-making and public accountability.
The two most pressing issues I will face in Congress are affordability and protecting Medicare and Medicaid. Families are struggling with rising healthcare, housing, and everyday costs. I will oppose cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, work to lower prescription drug prices, and expand access to affordable care. I will also support policies that reduce out-of-pocket healthcare costs, strengthen economic protections for working families, and ensure federal programs remain strong, accessible, and responsive to the needs of seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families.

Texas's 9th Congressional District includes: East Houston, Channelview, Deer Park, Pasadena, Baytown, Sheldon, Crosby, Huffman, and Liberty
I offer 30+ years of professional experience across three vital sectors: education, finance, and resource management. My qualifications are rooted in three core traits: Honesty, Unity, and Trust. As an educator, I have been trusted with our children’s futures for a decade. As a Realtor and tax preparer, I am trusted with my neighbors' largest financial transactions. I bring that same integrity to Congress. I am a Unifier who will join the Problem Solvers Caucus to fix our broken immigration and healthcare systems. I will be an Honest voice against "DOAG" (Dismantling of the Apparatus of Government), protecting our local Houston services from reckless cuts. I am a builder, not a wrecker, dedicated to being the "Voice of the People."
The two most pressing issues are economic instability and partisan gridlock. First, I will eliminate DOAG the Dismantling of the Apparatus of Government. Reckless federal cuts shift the tax burden onto Houstonians. I plan to drive prosperity by investing in clean energy and AI data centers, supported by fixing our failing water infrastructure to stop waste and create high-paying jobs. Second, I will join the Problem Solvers Caucus to move past partisan bickering. As a unifier, I will lead efforts on restructuring our debt with China, passing comprehensive immigration reform, and tackling rising insurance costs. By protecting the systems that serve us and modernizing our infrastructure, we can secure a stable, thriving future for District 9

Our nation is suffering particularly in the areas of health care, cost of living, and voting, reproductive, immigrants, LGBTQ+, and other human rights. My 32 years of experience as a practicing OB/Gyn physician have prepared me to be a strong leader particularly in these areas of need. My willingness to listen, to learn, to critically evaluate, to speak out, and to generate solutions along with my experience, record of leadership on national, state, and local levels, and my adherence to strong ethical principles make me qualified for this office.
1. Health care disparities - We must lower costs, expand
mental health and substance abuse services, emphasize preventative care (instead of problem-based
care), support nutrition programs, create truly affordable housing, and continue the work to improve healthcare systems.
2. High cost of living - We must develop and invest in truly affordable housing including lower rents, low interest loans for home ownership, and lower insurance costs.

During my Law Enforcement career, I have witnessed the challenges and opportunities that have shaped the communities in District 9. I believe that my experience as a Law Enforcement Officer uniquely qualifies me to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of all citizens in the new District 9. I have witnessed the struggle of the common people. The Battle which they continue fighting for their rights. I know wining this fight won't be easy and I know it will be hard but I'm ready for the challenge. The future is ours if we come together and strive hard enough. I am ready to lead us to better tomorrow.
Educating our community the importance of getting out to vote. By demonstrating that the beginning of goodness is to stand on one's own feet. That the future hangs over us, and we are the masters of our future so therefore act and vote.
Second not knowing what is important to certain areas of the district.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a commitment to integrity and effective leadership. I'm committed to addressing the concerns and enthusiasm about working together to implement positive changes. I am ready to engage in a dialogue with community members to gain a deeper understanding of the issues that matter most to them. I spent over 30 years in the USAF as an F-16 pilot with 45 combat missions over Iraq, a test pilot, and a NASA astronaut with over 7 months in outer space, including commanding the ISS. Since retiring I have been a small business owner and worked at NOV as an energy transition consultant, mostly working on carbon capture in the oil and gas industry. My experiences and perspectives are unique, including growing up in a working class / union family, working in the energy industry, and working with executives and government officials around the world as a guest-lecturer at Harvard Business School.
Affordability- I will work to lower health care costs by increasing supply- more doctors, hospitals, MRI machines, nurses, generic drugs, etc. I will also restore ACA subsidies and Medicaid eligibility.
I also believe the inhumane treatment of immigrants needs to end- I will reduce the size of ICE, require them to not wear masks unless on a tactical mission, and re-focus the agency to go after criminals.
