When elected, I will fight to lower healthcare costs by expanding Medicare drug price negotiation, strengthening coverage options, and investing in preventive and mental healthcare. I will protect patient choice, support rural hospitals, and work toward a single payer system and universal healthcare so no family is denied care due to cost.
Congress has to work everyday to protect democracy, defending voting rights, strengthening election security, and holding itself to clear ethical standards. I will work to make government more transparent because trust is rebuilt when people see that government is made up of people who listen, tell the truth, and deliver results. I want to be held accountable to my voters by having open townhalls.
Congress should secure the border with smart technology and staffing, expand legal work visas, fix asylum processing, and create path to legal status for nonviolent residents. We must keep families together, protect due process, and treat people with dignity while enforcing the law.
Congress has to reclaim its constitutional role by reasserting Article I powers, limiting executive overreach, and strengthening oversight. Firm limits on emergency and war powers, stronger ethics rules, and real accountability are essential to restoring checks and balances and keeping government answerable to the people.

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. We need to move to a single payor system like Medicare for all Americans. Until we can do that, we need to extend the subsidies under the ACA so insurance costs do not explode. We also need to fully expand Medicaid in all States and reverse that big ugly bill Republicans recently passed knocking people off Medicaid in order to give tax breaks to the rich.
Congress needs to pass legislation to reverse the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United and to further limit the power of wealthy individuals and corporate interests to control our elections through huge campaign donations. Congress also needs to pass another powerful version of the Voting Rights Act to reverse what the Supreme Court has done to weaken that legislation in recent years.
Congress needs to make sure our border is secure, while also passing comprehensive, compassionate immigration legislation to impose order. Congress must stop the abusive tactics of ICE, particularly with respect to people with no significant criminal history. We must modernize the visa process to prevent backlogs and reform the asylum process. We must have a system which reflects our values.
Republicans need to stop being a lap dog for Trump and do their job under the Constitution to prevent our country from becoming a dictatorship. Congress needs to take all steps necessary to make America a fully diverse Democracy. Congress needs to forcefully address the problems created by the right wing majority on the U.S. Supreme Court so that body also stops bending its knee to Trump.
