In many ways, I believe that my experience in legal work and community engagement across all of Harris County’s communities has guided me into this position. I inherited a Harris County Democratic Party with almost no cash on hand, hundreds of thousands in unpaid invoices, unpaid rent, and no funds to pay existing staff. Since then with tremendous help from the HCDP staff, precinct chairs, Precinct Chair Support Committee, and volunteers: Raised more than $3.4 million and substantially lowered the inherited debt. Almost doubled the number of HCDP sustaining members; Built a volunteer database of over 5,000 Democrats; Improved financial management;
Tens of millions of targeted misinformation from Musk, Abbott, and their cronies and concern from voters ready to "give up" on our political system; RESPONSE 1: Increase fundraising for HCDP beyond the record numbers already achieved. RESPONSE 2: Increase community engagement from the strides made in 2024 and 2025 into a compelling 2026.

I am a lawyer, community organizer, and experienced organizational leader with a strong background in governance, fundraising, and civic engagement. I served as President of the Houston Lawyers Association, where I built advocacy programs focused on voter education, election protection, and public engagement, and led the organization through consecutive six-figure fundraising years. I have experience managing large, diverse teams, building coalitions, and turning values into measurable outcomes. As a precinct chair, I have seen firsthand how party infrastructure succeeds or fails at the local level, and I am prepared to lead with transparency, accountability, and results.
The two most pressing issues are rebuilding party infrastructure and increasing voter participation. Harris County Democrats must operate year-round, not just during election cycles. My plan is to strengthen precinct-level organizing, recruit and train local leaders, and centralize voter education and outreach so the party is the hub for engagement. Second, we must address declining turnout and ballot drop-off, especially in local and judicial races. I will prioritize civic education, culturally competent outreach, and coordinated voter engagement efforts that make it easier for people to understand the ballot and participate fully in every election.
