Occupation Assistant District Attorney
I have practiced criminal law for over 14 years. I have experience as a prosecutor and with representing defendants, including law enforcement officers, through all aspects of the criminal justice process. I will uphold the laws of Texas and the Constitution. I have handled both misdemeanor and felony cases as well as criminal civil rights cases and white-collar crimes. I have worked domestic violence, prosecutorial intake, DWIs, and violent crimes, just to name a few. I additionally have a background in civil law which gives me a firm legal background that would be an asset to the management of a court docket. I understand the role of a Judge and what is needed to run a court efficiently.
Keeping the Case Load of the court in check. I would balance community safety, victim's rights, and the rights of the defendant with keeping a trial and case docket that is of a reasonable size. As a prosecutor and a defense attorney, I have seen how the justice system breaks down when the judge mismanages their case load. A judge must manage their court and their docket to keep the justice system moving forward. Without that, there are backlogs that destroy the safety of the community.

Making sure defendants respect bond conditions. I will follow the law and the constitution when setting bond but a defendant who does not respect bond conditions, especially those set to keep victims and the community safe, should have consequences.
