Occupation Attorney
What makes me the best candidate is not just my experience, but my judicial temperament, preparation, and commitment to fairness. I understand the real-world impact of judicial decisions, and I approach every case with diligence, respect, and an unwavering commitment to justice. I have practiced for 13 years primarily in the area of criminal law. I am a former felony associate judge. As an attorney, I have tried over 10 cases as first chair and many more as second chair. As an associate judge, I have conducted more than 75 voir dires, presided over hearings and covered for other judges dockets. This experience means I can step into this role immediately without a learning curve.
1)Persistent backlog of cases and delays in case resolution. My plan to address this issue is rooted in active docket management and accountability. I will prioritize early case evaluation and enforce realistic but firm scheduling orders to ensure cases move forward efficiently. 2) The implementation of bail reform in a way that is lawful, fair, and promotes public safety. Courts must balance constitutional rights and protect the community. As a judge, I will apply bail statutes consistently with individualized assessments in every case. I will carefully evaluate factors such as (but not limited to) the nature of the offense, prior history, risk of nonappearance and community safety when determining conditions of release.
