Occupation
Educator / Consultant
I bring over 25 years of experience as an educator, mentor, policy advocate, and Board President of Alief ISD, one of the most diverse districts in Texas. I’ve worked directly with legislators on bills impacting education, workforce stability, and student well-being, including advocating for educator wellness and learning support. I've led policy fellows through the Texas Education Policy Institute, where I help translate community needs into actionable policy solutions. I am also an Emerge alum and have participated in campaign and leadership training focused on running an effective campaign. My leadership training, governance experience, and deep understanding of state systems uniquely prepare me to serve effectively in the Legislature.
I will advocate for increasing the basic allotment and strengthening funding for special education, bilingual services, and school-based mental health. I will oppose unfunded mandates and push for flexible, transparent funding that allows districts to meet student needs. My focus will be on policies that support the whole child while maintaining accountability.
I will support workforce development programs tied to high-demand jobs and partnerships with local employers. I will advocate for small business access to capital and technical assistance, especially in working-class communities. I will also push for targeted infrastructure investments such as drainage, roads, and broadband to support economic growth and stability.
