I see the job description as being to support or oppose legislation based on the Constitution, applicable law, and the views of the constituents in my district. Beyond that, advocating for their needs outside of legislation, being their link to the state government, and keeping them apprised of the happenings in Little Rock, while working with local leaders to creatively and collaboratively pursue solutions to the challenges facing the district and the state, are all implied duties. Ultimately, it's an office of service to the people, in any capacity that I'm able to serve.

I'm a small business owner, a farmer, a husband, a father to a toddler, a nonprofit founder, a board member, and a proven, relentless advocate for my community--and I spent over a decade in the legal industry. I've drafted bills, testified in front of the legislature, gone under oath in front of legislative panels, and built relationships on both sides of the aisle and in both chambers of the legislature. All of this gives me not only a unique perspective on the challenges facing my district, but a unique set of qualifications to tackle those challenges.

The first and most easily accomplished goal will be opening access legislative access to the people of the district. I want voters to know how the process works, be able to reach me, understand what my plans are and how I intend to vote on matters pertinent to their everyday lives, and be able to freely participate in the process. It's no secret that our district has a target on its back right now, so the goal will be maximum transparency and accountability in my efforts to ward off government overreach while building and maintaining the relationships needed to ensure the stability and responsible of growth of our district into the future.
