Judge, County Probate Court No. 1
Probate Court No. 1 has jurisdiction over all Probate, Guardianship, Mental Health and Ancillary Civil Matters relating to Probate. Probate is the court-supervised process of administering a deceased person’s estate, determining heirs, and granting legal authority for estate distribution with or without a will. Guardianship cases are established for incapacitated individuals and minors, and may encompass both their personal care and financial affairs. Civil law cases may also be assigned to this court. Such cases include injury or damage related to motor vehicles, medical malpractice, other professional malpractice or product liability, cases involving real property, such as eminent domain, as well as cases related to consumer or business debt and delinquent taxes. Term: 4 (four) years
