I am a registered professional civil engineer with 35 years of service as County Commissioner. I have been involved in every aspect of Fort Bend County growth and development, taking a leadership role in mobility, criminal justice funding, public health, diversity and inclusion, parks and recreation and community development.
The two most pressing issues that we will face in the coming years are #1 the continued management of growth, ensuring adequate public infrastructure commensurate with the demands of the population, and #2 continuing the effort to ensure that all communities are brought up to an acceptable standard with no community left behind.
I am a retired educator in Fort Bend ISD holding masters degrees in both public administration and urban and regional planning. I served as administrative assistant to the City Manager of Galveston. I presently serve as a Director of the Industrial board, the Higher education board and the Health facilities boards for the CIty Of Houston. I also serve as the executive director for PACCO, a nonprofit organization that assists young people in obtaining jobs and careers.
Our residential neighborhoods are being heavily encroached by warehouses, turning our communities in Precinct 2 into an industrial waste field. Our air and water quality is at an all-time low and our parks lack the beautification that our tax dollars pay for.
