My top priorities are taxes, public safety, and economic development. I’ll balance the county budget without raising taxes, because families—especially seniors on fixed incomes—can’t afford more hikes. I’ll ensure law enforcement and critical departments like the 9-1-1 Center and emergency responders (fire, police, and EMS) are properly staffed and funded. I’ll also grow our economy by supporting small businesses, attracting new employers, and promoting opportunities in the trades. By creating jobs and strengthening our tax base, we can reduce reliance on state and federal funding while keeping Allegheny County affordable and strong for all residents.
I’ve faced situations where I disagreed with an individual’s actions but recognized their involvement was important to the bigger picture. In one case - I believed someone's behavior risked undermining broader goals, while others clearly valued their contributions. To address this, I made it clear I could not endorse the behavior, yet ensured the individual remained part of group initiatives & outreach. This solution upheld my principles while respecting differing perspectives, resulting in an outcome that preserved unity, minimized conflict & kept the mission moving forward productively.
