My experience in public service dealing with different interest groups will be an asset in addressing matters before the town. I seek consensus and bi-partisan solutions to matters, and I believe everyone has a voice that should be weighed in determining the path forward. I also believe my leadership role with Concerned Citizens for Clean Drinking Water (CCCDW), an ad-hoc group of residents seeking answers to PFOA found at Algonquin Middle School, shows that we can work together using a bi-partisan approach to problem solving while still holding all levels of government accountable.
The goals and priorities I hope to influence include improved communications to town residents, via an email or text notification system sign up program; keeping our open spaces and scenic beauty unharmed by large-scale development; and encouraging modest retail business development in the town's hamlet.
My wife and I moved to Poestenkill in 1991, building a home in a new neighborhood that we found on a Sunday drive. We imagined a place where we could raise our children on a quiet street where kids could play outside, ride bikes, and make friends. We now have two successful adult children educated through the Averill Park School System, and a one year-old granddaughter. While our children were growing up, I coached for 11 years in the AP Youth Soccer League. I also was president of Classie Lassies Girls Softball League for three seasons. Since retiring from state service, I kept busy by being a house husband and doing such things as writing baseball-related articles for Best American Poetry, learning to play piano through on line lessons, and getting paid to be a background actor (extra) in movies and TV shows, including all three seasons of The Gilded Age.

Living and working in our small rural town gives me a unique advantage and insight as to how Poestenkill should progress into the future
My goals are simply to keep Poestenkill's rural small town feel while promoting all the amazing things our town has to offer: multiple family owned farms, protected open spaces for walking, hiking, fishing, and most all other outdoor activities, and much more. All while managing Fiscal Responsibility with community needs.
I have lived in or next to Poestenkill my whole life. My roots run deep in this community. We moved here to raise our kids 22+ years ago, and want families to have the same rural small town community feel as I have.
