I bring a blend of professional, community, & civic experience that directly applies to the role of City Council. Professionally, I’ve overseen multi-million-dollar budgets, coordinated cross-departmental projects, and led work in customer success and operations—experience that translates into managing complex budgets, negotiating contracts, and ensuring accountability. I’ve also worked in the public sector on Federal-level projects, which gave me firsthand insight into government processes and the kind of red tape that can often be misunderstood. I’ve been active as a volunteer with Lucky Pup Rescue, organized donation drives for food banks & school supplies, & launched a Little Free Library in town to support literacy and community connection. I attend county and city council meetings, follow city planning & budget processes closely, and have already worked with our City Administrator on identifying federal and state grant opportunities for sidewalks and safety programs.
I support several recent City Council actions that directly improve quality of life in Westminster. I’m excited about the opioid program that Chief Fred helped secure. Expanding pill take-back programs will help prevent unused medications from ending up in the wrong hands and strengthen public safety. I strongly support the current upgrades to our power infrastructure. These improvements have already made a noticeable difference in reliability, reducing outages and ensuring our residents and businesses have the dependable service they need. I appreciate the initiative to improve downtown sidewalks, especially with the inclusion of ramps for accessibility. Making sure everyone—seniors, parents with strollers, and neighbor with disabilities.
Growth must be matched with sustainable funding. I support pursuing state and federal grants—such as infrastructure improvement programs and public safety grants—that can offset costs. Westminster has already successfully secured outside funds for sewer rehabilitation through the SCIIP program, showing this approach works. I have already shared two grants with our City Administrator and my hope is to continue to find grants to support community spaces such as Dots Kitchen, the community garden and Anderson Park. I hope to continue to connect with our community to find more initiatives to support.
I would encourage Council to prioritize: Transparency and accessibility in city government – making sure residents know when agendas are posted, when they can speak at meetings, and how city funds are being spent. Clearer communication builds trust. Safe and connected neighborhoods – continuing to invest in sidewalks, crosswalks, and basic infrastructure. Many residents walk to school, church, and local businesses, and they deserve safe routes. Another thing I would like to push for is a Community Volunteer effort. We host Apple Festival and Big Foot Festival and I would love for Westminster to show up looking it's best. We all want to live in a place we are proud of.

I have a BA in Political Science and a Maters in Business which gives me an understanding of both the political and budgetary processes. I have also served on the Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals and am currently on the Westminster Planning Commission. I am the co-owner of Keller Williams Oconee here in Westminster. I am also the Chairman of Finance for our parent company, Keller Williams Western Upstate, where I oversee a $22 Million budget ensuring financial compliance and profitability.
I am in support of council not annexing a farm into the city limits. In planning commission we were presented with a possible annexation of an over 40 acre farm. After weighing the evidence of the circumstances, we voted not to bring the farm into the city. In a split vote on council, the annexation did not move forward. To me, this was the correct decision by council. The benefits of annexing the farm did not outweigh the potential costs.
This question is complex due to the different kinds of housing and developments being built.

In larger high density neighborhoods, it would make sense to have adequate impact fees associated with the new development to offset the cost of new or expanded infrastructure. And, as the city has done in the past, seek grants and other public funding as stop-gap measures.

Single family homes that are not built in high density neighborhoods have different challenges. One way to generate additional funding would be to study the fee structure for new water, sewer taps, and power drops for new construction.

Multi family homes is another example of utilizing impact fees as it is also a high density development.
Items I would like to implement to increase public awareness and engagement:

1. Live stream all meetings via YouTube & have archived into a searchable database for public access.

2. Quarterly town halls.

3. Post agenda 72 hours prior to meetings on main landing page of website.

4. Create a citizen feedback portal where citizens can engage and interact with council.

5. Zero-based budgeting.

6. Tax & Fee freeze for city residents for 2 years.

7. Cap non-essential spending without approval.

8. Create District Advisory Boards to align community values & needs.

9. Ban all gifts/contributions from those seeking city contracts.

10. Create citizen led body to investigate misconduct.

11. Workforce audit to determine needs.
