My professional experience over the years has empowered me to be a good listener, a problem solver, facilitated reconciliation, and created an environment where everyone feels heard.
Through my work and civic engagement, my abilities as facilitator has assisted others to finding their personal spot for involvement in their community and creating meaningful experiences for themselves and their families.
Enlisting and engaging community members of all ages in Tulip Time as tours guides has been a highlight of my community involvement. Through passionate invitation, persons of every generation are sharing our community's rich history, blessed present realities, and exciting future.
The West Coast Chamber has been a place of involvement and equipping of current and upcoming leaders in our community for me as well. Through my engagement in the leadership program each year, leaders throughout our community have a broader understanding of who our community is and the many opportunities that exist for participation.
Through my experience in senior leadership in numerous organizations throughout my career, I am uniquely equipped and have a vast understanding of systems, organizational structures, as well as community engagement and empowerment at a volunteer level.
At the end of the day, I'm a collaborator that gets it done.
The city of Holland is extremely financially responsible and will continue to make it priority.
There are incredible opportunities we see on the forefront of our future. The first one that we will experience quickly is the opening of the Ice Rink, and its own development as we figure out the staffing and visitor levels of this incredible community asset and the positive impact it will have on our downtown.
Housing will continue to be at the forefront of community needs. City leadership will steadily work alongside community partners to create the best housing options at all price points.
As political tensions rise across our country, city leaders and volunteers alike will need to continue to nurture and encourage a collaborative spirit amongst all individuals and community entities.
I will continue to promote open dialogue, practice good listening skills, and make solid decisions that reflect the overall good and direction of our city.
