I’m running because I care deeply about the future of Batesburg-Leesville. We’re at a pivotal moment, and with the right leadership, we can address long-standing issues and plan wisely for growth. My time on council has shown me both our community’s strengths and the areas where we must do better. I’m committed to listening, uniting people, and focusing on real results—not politics. I believe in our town, and I’m stepping up to help move us forward.
As your councilman, I will continue working to improve our stormwater infrastructure by securing funding for critical drainage upgrades, prioritizing high-risk flood zones, and ensuring regular maintenance of ditches and culverts. I’ll also collaborate with state and county officials to develop long-term solutions that protect homes and roads. Community input is key, and I’ll keep listening to residents to ensure our efforts meet real needs. Together, we can make Batesburg-Leesville more resilient.
As your current representative on the COMET Board, I’ve been focused on practical solutions for our community’s transit needs. I recently submitted a proposal for a 4-bus circulator system that would loop around Batesburg-Leesville with stops at key shopping centers, job sites, and neighborhoods. This system would improve access to work, healthcare, and essential services, especially for residents without reliable transportation. My goal is to make public transit more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the daily needs of our town.
As your Councilman, my priorities include smart growth planning that preserves our small-town charm while welcoming responsible development. Batesburg-Leesville is growing, and we must ensure that growth benefits everyone—not just a few. I’ll continue working to attract good-paying jobs, support small businesses, and partner with regional leaders to expand opportunities. Affordable, obtainable housing is also critical. I will collaborate with agencies like US Rural Development and SC Housing to bring mixed-income housing options for seniors and our workforce, helping residents live and thrive right here in our community.
