I began in activism, where my passion for people and social justice inspired over 15 years of research in community development. My platform is rooted in equity, research, and action, and I live by the motto: think better, do better, be better. Alongside this, I bring years of managing bars and restaurants, which taught me how the smallest details shape the bigger picture. As a single mother, I know how to manage limited resources and step up when others drop the ball—skills essential for public service.
Securing our water department is critical—not only to protect our independence as a city, but to create stable jobs and restore community pride. We also need a vibrant downtown economy and a council ready to bring progressive solutions that not only address today’s challenges but also prepare us for the future. With those foundations in place, we can move forward with my Five Pillars for Progress: revitalizing our roots, cultivating opportunity, nurture safe and healthy neighborhoods, and build bridges of trust.
Our role as council members is to bridge the gap between people and government, and in doing so we build understanding and support for the issues we face. I will make information clear and accessible through forums, neighborhood events, and social media, while also creating space for residents to share their voices. Reinstating trust and transparency is key—not only to unify our community, but also to help council work together more effectively. Whether it’s securing our water department, creating a vibrant downtown, or advancing the Five Pillars for Progress, open communication and accountability will restore cohesion and move us forward together.
