Long time volunteer in the district as a PTO board member at Avery Elementary. I served as the community connections coordinator for the levy/bond campaign in 2024; scheduling over 70 community conversations with the superintendent to share facts and answer questions about the need for the levy/bond issue. I have attended many school board meetings as a parent advocate for our schools.
Our schools are committed to educate every student without exception. With state and federal funding cuts being passed, this threatens the resources and services needed to meet the needs of ALL of our students. We must be creative with our curriculum, resources, and funds to do more with less so that we can keep our schools excellent and provide a quality education for all our students.
My Goals for Hilliard City Schools
1. Prioritize Student Well-Being and Success
2. Support and Empower Our Educators and Support Staff
3. Promote Transparent Communication and Community Engagement
4. Ensure Responsible Stewardship of Resources
5. Champion Career and College Readiness Opportunities
Some key responsibilities of a school board member are to set the vision and goals for our schools, approve budgets and ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly, support strong academics and equitable opportunities for every student, and listen to the community and represent their voices. I believe I'm a good candidate for this role because as a dedicated mom, longtime volunteer, and passionate advocate for our schools, I have worked hard to make a difference by showing up, listening, and building relationships. I’m running for the school board to continue that commitment and ensure that all students can thrive in Hilliard.
I plan to show up, listen, build relationships and truly engage with all community members to ensure their voices are heard. Getting out into the community to be present at important events, activities, and make myself available for conversations is what I'm currently doing and plan to continue doing after the election. Decision making must include all voices so that our schools truly represent our diverse community and their needs.
When coming together in good faith I truly believe there can be compromise and common ground to be found. Encouraging conversations and understanding can help bridge the gap of disagreement. I commit to be a board member for all in the community and hope to find a way for all to feel represented and heard.

One of the most significant challenges facing our district is ensuring strong, sustainable funding for our public schools. Like many communities, we’re managing rising costs, staffing shortages, and increasing student needs—while maintaining the high-quality education Hilliard families expect. At the same time, we must create safe, inclusive environments where every student feels supported, especially as mental health and attendance concerns grow. I’ll continue to advocate for responsible funding, invest in student and staff well-being, and support innovative, future-ready learning.
I truly believe that every student—without exception—deserves to be Ready for Their Tomorrow. That belief guides my goals:
-Advancing academic excellence through innovative programs and future-ready learning experiences.
-Promoting a culture of belonging and opportunity where every student feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
-Leading with purpose, transparency, and integrity, ensuring that our schools reflect the values and voices of the community.
To support these priorities, I will continue working closely with district leadership to ensure our budget reflects both our values and our vision. I’m committed to responsible fiscal stewardship—making sure every dollar directly supports students, educators, and classrooms.
The Board of Education plays a critical role in shaping the direction of our schools. Key responsibilities include setting district policy, hiring and evaluating the superintendent and treasurer, approving the budget, and advocating for what’s best for students.
As a lifelong educator, current Board President, and proud Hilliard parent, I bring a unique blend of classroom experience, leadership, and community connection. I understand what’s happening in our schools today and have a clear vision for where we need to go. My leadership is grounded in partnership, purpose, and a deep love for public education. I’ve been honored to serve—and I’m excited about the opportunity to keep building on the great work we’ve started.
Community connection has always been one of my core values. As a Board member, I’ve always prioritized being visible, accessible, and open to dialogue. I plan to continue:
Attending school events, forums, and neighborhood gatherings
Creating regular opportunities for listening and feedback
Using communication tools to share updates and invite input
Partnering with families, staff, students, and local organizations to strengthen community-school relationships
When we listen to each other and work together, we make better decisions—and our schools become even stronger.
I believe that strong leadership is about bringing people together—even when we don’t all agree right away. In a vibrant and diverse district like Hilliard, it’s natural for different perspectives to emerge. My approach to consensus-building includes:
-Listening with empathy and respect
-Focusing on shared values and common goals
-Leading with transparency and facts
-Encouraging collaborative problem-solving, where every voice has a place at the table
Whether in the classroom or the boardroom, I’ve always believed that respectful dialogue leads to better outcomes. My goal is to help build bridges so that we can move forward united in our commitment to students and community.

Qualifications for Office
I have proven leadership experiences through local organizations that have given me valuable insight into bringing people together, navigating diverse perspectives, and building consensus to achieve shared goals—even when opinions differ. I am committed to using these skills to foster collaboration and positive outcomes for the Hilliard School Board and our entire community.
I believe the primary challenge facing local school boards is the increasingly restrictive state legislation that limits our ability to enact policies tailored to our district and to do what’s best for our students and community.
Additionally, uncertainty in state funding makes long-term planning and investment in our schools exceptionally difficult.
We must advocate for and protect the future of our public schools.
*Advance Academic Excellence - I will work to maintain and elevate our schools’ high academic standards, ensuring all students reach their fullest potential.
*Promote Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainability - I will work to maximize the district’s resources, aiming to extend the timeframe before a new ballot initiative is necessary while maintaining quality programs and services.
*Prepare Every Student for Success After Graduation - I will work to strengthen college and career readiness programs, enhance life skills education, and expand partnerships with local businesses and colleges so that every graduate is equipped for higher education, skilled trades, or the workforce.
I believe our primary role is to ensure that every student in our district has access to a first-class
education that prepares them for success. Our school board should be a force for positive change, working collaboratively to strengthen our schools and our community.
I have leadership experiences through other local organizations that have given me valuable insight into bringing people together, navigating diverse perspectives, and building consensus to achieve shared goals—even when opinions dier. I am committed to using these skills to foster collaboration.
Open communication with the public and local government entities is essential. I will make myself available to all stakeholders through board meetings, group discussions, and one-on-one conversations. I am committed to actively listening to community input and ensuring transparency throughout the decision-making process. It’s important to me that decisions are made collaboratively and in the open, not in isolation or behind closed doors, so that our actions reflect the needs and values of the entire community.
My approach to building consensus starts with active listening and ensuring all voices are heard. I encourage open, respectful dialogue and seek common ground by focusing on shared goals. When disagreements arise, I look to clarify misunderstandings, have constructive discussions and look for compromise. I believe in transparency, patience, and collaboration, so that we can reach solutions that best serve our students and community as a whole.
