Annexation is slowly chipping away at Franklin Township. When Columbus offers tax abatements to outside developers, it drains us of land and tax revenue, leaving residents paying more while receiving less. I will stand firmly against annexation, push for fair agreements, and fight to protect township’s tax base and property rights. Public safety is also stretched thin. I will work diligently to reopen our fire station. Our fire department provides vital mutual aid, but Columbus’s rapid growth adds to our burden. I will work to ensure police, fire and road department are fully staffed, funded, and protected by securing grants, demanding fair funding agreements, and keeping taxpayer dollars in Franklin Township to serve our residents first.
My top priorities as Trustee are to protect Franklin Township from annexation, strengthen public safety by working to reopen our closed fire station to full capacity. I will oppose annexation and unfair tax abatements that benefit outside developers while shifting costs to residents, keeping our land and tax base secure. I will support police, fire and our road department by pursuing grants, and other tax revenue, demanding fair cost-sharing with Columbus, and ensuring every tax dollar is used efficiently for our community. Fiscal responsibility is key—we don’t need higher taxes. Financing will come from protecting our tax base, seeking grants and state funds—not raising taxes on hardworking families.
Central Ohio is growing rapidly, but Franklin Township must balance that growth while protecting our community’s character and needs. Infrastructure—roads, utilities, and public safety—must be addressed before new developments. Too often, growth is pushed onto communities without support, leaving taxpayers to foot the bill. I will advocate for agreements requiring developers to pay their fair share. On housing, I support responsible, balanced growth that offers options for families and seniors while preserving our small-community feel. We can meet housing needs without giving away land through annexation or allowing unchecked development. My goal is to ensure growth benefits our residents—not outside investors.
My goal as Trustee is to ensure the people of Franklin Township always have a seat at the table. I would like to hold regular open forums and town halls so residents can share concerns directly, not just during regular meetings. I will keep communication transparent through social media, and open-door hours so residents know what’s happening in township government. I’ll also engage with local businesses, community groups, and first responders to ensure all voices are represented. Most importantly, I will listen—because good leadership isn’t about pushing an agenda, it’s about serving the people who live here.
My approach to building consensus starts with respect and listening. Residents, businesses, first responders, and neighboring governments all bring different concerns and priorities. Disagreements are best resolved by focusing on common ground and keeping the well-being of Franklin Township residents as the guiding principle. I will encourage open dialogue, ask questions, and ensure all sides feel heard before decisions are made. If compromise is needed, it must be fair, transparent, and balanced so no group carries the burden alone. As Trustee, my role is to bring people together—and with honesty and collaboration, most disagreements can become solutions.
