I am a 16 year resident of Whitehall. I am on the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals for the City of Whitehall. I was on the Whitehall Superintendent Advisory Council in 2024. I am on the Elementary School Fairness and Fair Sensitivity Committee for The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
Affordable Housing is one of the most significant challenges facing the City of Whitehall.
As someone who has experienced multiple evictions in my lifetime I believe that affordable, safe, and secure housing is a human right.
I will work with the current City of Whitehall administration to make sure that current and future residents of Whitehall have the best housing (renting and home ownership) where they can be planted and thrive. This will include securing partnerships with housing developers who specialize in building affordable apartments and single family homes.
My top three priorities as the next Whitehall City Council Representative are:
Affordable Housing- I will work with the current City of Whitehall administration to make sure that current and future residents of Whitehall have the best housing (renting and home ownership) where they can be planted and thrive. This will include securing partnerships with affordable housing developers.
Food Security- The City of Whitehall currently has partnerships with organizations that are addressing the needs of food security in our community. I will work to secure additional partnerships to meet these needs.
Economic Empowerment- I will work to attract employers who will deliver good paying jobs to Whitehall.
The City of Whitehall is currently building additional housing to meet the population growth that is happening in Central Ohio. We have infrastructure improvements currently taking place with our water lines and road resurfacing. I also believe that changes in zoning codes will be necessary to address population growth in Whitehall.
I will have open communication with my constituents. They will be able to call, email, and talk to me at the city council meetings. I will also host meet and greets with my constituents where they can come and share any concerns that they have and what their vision is for our community.
I believe that having open, honest, and yes, sometimes difficult conversations with all parties listening intently and respecting everyone's perspectives is key to resolving disagreements. I have always believed that there are one to two things that people can agree on and work together to bring about change.
