Occupation Lawyer
Education B.S Mechanical Engineering, University of Maine M.B.A., University of Massachusetts, Lowell J.D. , Case Western University School of Law
Qualifications for Office I bring a unique combination of skills and experience as an engineer, and attorney with an MBA, paired with four years of public service on City Council, including as Council President and Mayor.
Upper Arlington is experiencing the dual challenge of rapid regional growth and the rising cost of living. This creates pressure on redevelopment, affordability, and infrastructure.

To address these challenges, I will continue advancing thoughtful planning and smart growth strategies: ensuring redevelopment reflects the character of our neighborhoods while preparing us for future needs. I also plan to focus on affordability, exploring creative housing solutions and policies that allow longtime residents to stay, while welcoming new families and future generations.
My priorities for the next term are rooted in challenging us to R-I-S-E :

Revitalize Henderson Road and other key corridors.

Invest in infrastructure for safety, connectivity, and walkability.

Strategize on a Master Plan that guides growth for the next decade.

Enhance parks and public spaces to keep Upper Arlington vibrant and family-friendly.

These initiatives will be financed through responsible, forward-looking fiscal planning. In my first term, I helped modernize the city’s procurement process and championed strong financial management. I will continue to prioritize balanced budgets, leveraging grants, and strategic public-private partnerships to fund improvements without overburdening taxpayers.
Central Ohio is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, and that growth directly affects Upper Arlington. To prepare, I will:

Support data-driven housing strategies, using our citywide housing study as a roadmap.

Invest in infrastructure upgrades. From waterlines and sewers to sidewalks and streets, these ensure safety and connectivity.

Push for sustainable growth, including energy efficiency, walkability, and transit-friendly development.
My approach to leadership is grounded in listening and inclusion. In my first term, I helped reform the city’s board and commission appointment process to make it more open and accessible.

Going forward, I will expand opportunities for two-way communication through neighborhood forums (draw feedback back from things like our Porch Parties), listening sessions, and digital engagement tools. My goal is for every resident to feel their voice is valued and represented in city decision-making.
As Council President and Mayor, I’ve learned that consensus-building starts with respect and transparency. My approach is to bring stakeholders to the table early, ensure all perspectives are heard, and look for common ground rooted in shared community values.

When disagreements arise, I focus on data, fairness, and future impact, rather than personalities or partisanship. My role is to facilitate dialogue that moves us from division to collaboration, ensuring outcomes that serve the broader good of Upper Arlington.

Occupation Attorney, OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Law, Contributing Author of Baldwin's Ohio Domestic Relations Law
Education Capital University Law School (2008) & Ohio University (2005)
Qualifications for Office With 17 years of legal experience, I’ve served Ohio at every level of its judicial system as a prosecutor and judicial attorney at the Supreme Court of Ohio. For the past 11 years, I’ve been an OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Law, recognized by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers. I’ve also spent a decade coaching youth sports in Upper Arlington.
I see two challenges on a collision course: (1) preserving Upper Arlington’s special character, and (2) preparing responsibly for regional growth. The recent community survey shows that many residents (rightly) believe UA is an excellent place to live. However, in good times, complacency creates an urge to tinker. I want to ensure that we first protect what’s working: our infrastructure, our streets, and the thoughtful balance that built this community.

We can steer these challenges on the right path through the Master Plan review process, which is at its early stages. The last update was in 2013, and the current review will affect the next 10 to 20 years of growth, including corridors like Henderson Road and Kingsdale.
My priorities are strong infrastructure, thoughtful development, and careful stewardship of our Master Plan review process. My approach will be to fund priorities through disciplined budgeting and strategic use of our tax base that does not impose new tax burdens on residents.
Change is the only constant in life. UA must manage growth with discipline and impulse control. My priority is protecting taxpayers by maintaining infrastructure through the city’s existing capital plan and financing improvements with redevelopment revenues, rather than new tax burdens. Raising taxes drives people out; smart planning and fiscal discipline keep them here.
I am part of a generation that grew up without the internet and entered adulthood with it, which makes me fluent in both traditional and modern communication. I’m as comfortable hosting neighborhood meetings or knocking on doors as I am engaging through social media. I’ll use every tool (e.g., surveys, forums, direct outreach, and digital platforms) to make sure residents’ voices guide decisions, especially on issues like the Master Plan, Henderson Road, and Kingsdale.
I’ve spent most of my 17-year legal career as a family law attorney. I spend every day helping good people through tough times. My approach is rooted in active listening, respect, and reason. I believe that emotions are real and that humility is essential in city leadership.

Occupation Real Estate Appraiser and Salesperson
Education Franklin University
Qualifications for Office Licensed real estate salesperson & licensed appraisal assistant with The Robert Weiler Co. | Over 20 years of real estate experience | EqualUA - Founding Member | UA Community Relation Committee - Co-Creator | UA Education Foundation, Trustee & Past Engagement Chair | UA Alumni Association - Past President | LeadershipUA - Past President and Executive Director | UA Citizens Police Academy Graduate
Upper Arlington is facing two key challenges: managing growth thoughtfully and ensuring all voices are heard. With Central Ohio’s rapid expansion, UA must navigate development projects like the Golden Bear Center, NCR senior housing, and the Henderson Road Corridor with care. We need to ensure these spaces are shovel-ready for income-generating opportunities while preserving our community’s character. I bring 20 years of real estate experience to help navigate that. We also need more pathways for civic engagement and representation. I’ve led programs like Equal, LeadershipUA, and helped create our city’s first Community Relations Committee. I’ll continue to work to ensure that every neighbor feels seen, heard, and valued.
My priorities center on smart development, inclusive leadership, reliable services, and a culture of care. I’ll advocate for fiscally sound, community-centered projects. I’ll expand civic engagement pathways for youth, seniors, and underrepresented voices. I’ll protect UA’s exceptional services while exploring cost-effective, sustainable innovations. And I’ll foster a culture where every neighbor feels seen, supported, and connected, because belonging builds stronger communities. This means leveraging public-private partnerships, pursuing grants, and ensuring every dollar spent aligns with our values & long-term goals. Growth should be a tool, not a burden. I’ll work to make sure our investments serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s vision.
Central Ohio's growth is already here—we see it in our traffic, our schools, and our housing costs. UA can't stop regional growth, but we can plan strategically to preserve our community’s character while contributing to smart, inclusive development. I’ll advocate for infrastructure improvements that support walkability, green space, and connectivity, especially as we plan for mixed-use projects like the Henderson Road Corridor. Sites must be shovel-ready and designed to serve residents across generations. On housing, I’ll support diverse, attainable options that reflect the needs of families, seniors, and young professionals. I’ll work to ensure UA remains vibrant, welcoming, and future-ready without losing what makes it feel like home.
The best decisions come from listening first. Throughout my work with EqualUA, LeadershipUA, and the Community Relations Committee, I’ve seen how powerful it is when people feel invited to the table, not just informed after the fact. As a councilmember, I’ll prioritize proactive engagement: hosting listening sessions, meeting people where they are, and creating more accessible ways for residents to share ideas and concerns.

I’ll also strengthen partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations to ensure diverse voices are represented. Whether it’s a student with a bold idea or a senior with lived wisdom, I’ll make sure every neighbor feels heard, and that their input shapes the future of UA.
My approach to building consensus starts with listening. I’ve learned through years of community work that disagreement often stems from feeling unheard. Whether I’m facilitating conversations, or working with committees, I focus on creating space where people feel safe sharing their perspectives. I believe in finding common ground through shared values, not just shared opinions. That means asking the right questions, clarifying goals, and identifying where interests overlap. I bring a collaborative mindset and solutions-oriented approach to tough conversations. When stakeholders feel respected and included, it leads to progress. My goal is always to move forward together—with transparency, empathy, and a commitment to the greater good.

Upper Arlington is poised to see a fair amount of population growth, and we need to prepare for new residents now by having housing, transportation and community-building measures in place today. By offering attainable housing solutions, building upon our current cycling, walking and transit infrastructure, and creating ways for new and established residents to get to know each other, we can minimize growing pains as our population grows. We’re approaching our next Master Planning process now, and we can prepare for population growth as well as the weirder weather events coming our way by being intentional in our design plans. By prioritizing people and planet today, we’re setting ourselves up for success tomorrow.
My three primary priorities are to improve our transportation infrastructure, build upon activities that promote a sense of belonging and to plan with climate resilience at the forefront of all decisions. All three of these are initiatives that the City of Upper Arlington has been working on for years, but we can take larger leaps in all three areas without a lot of additional cost. We can be sustainable and creative as we approach our next Master Plan process to plant the seeds for UA’s tomorrow today.
Upper Arlington started the process of a housing study and survey, and I will happily support the continued study of attainable housing solutions for new and established residents. Additionally, improving our cycling, walking and transit infrastructure today helps prevent our streets from becoming more congested and air from becoming more polluted. As I’ve told residents at campaign events, even if they don’t have any interest in riding the bus, if we make it easier for people who are interested in public transit in riding the bus to get where they need around town, that means fewer vehicles on our streets.
Being open, accessible and transparent is a big part of my campaign. I’m holding multiple events per week in public places at various times of day where everyone is invited to share their thoughts. I intend to continue with the same level of in-person accessibility once I’m a member of Upper Arlington City Council. Similarly, I’ve tried to make it incredibly easy to reach out to me online and have a goal of responding within an hour to questions that come my way via social media. Finally, I’m going door-to-door to listen to residents’ concerns and have appreciated getting to know neighbors and what they’d like to see improved in our community.
I believe that most people want the same thing for their families: A safe, welcoming community. Some of us may disagree on the best route to get there, but our goal is to end at the same destination. As a small business owner for the last 15+ years, I’ve worked with municipalities, nonprofits and businesses of all shapes and sizes to help guide their marketing and communications needs. Creativity and empathy are two of my strongest assets in problem solving and getting team members on the same page. I’ll bring those same strengths to building consensus on the UA City Council to help us all row in the same direction with the same destination in mind.

Responsible economic development. Any time there is change or proposal for change we must be as thorough as possible with our diligence to ensure the growth and the change are done so reasonably and responsibly. We must also do our best to understand all of the immediate impacts and possible potholes for the future.
Responsible Economic development Responsible City Planning Improving infrastructure Increasing civic engagement
Growth should be analyzed in such a way where we have both qualitative and quantitative data that help identify what makes sense for our community.
The easiest way to engage with anyone is to listen, ask questions…. And listen. Follow up on their concerns and communicate throughout the process.
The best way to resolve any issue is to listen to all sides, and do everything we can within reason to address each item line by line to work up to and through a manageable compromise.

Occupation Assistant Prosecuting Attorney - Appellate Division
Education Brown University - B.A. 2007; University of Virginia School of Law - J.D. 2010
Qualifications for Office I am a prosecutor and I have been an Ohio Supreme Court Senior Judicial Attorney, a civil rights attorney, and a small business owner. I have led and helped lead organizations such as the FCDLC, Opera Columbus, and Athletic Club of Columbus. I bring constitutional law expertise, federalism/home rule knowledge, community organizing, fundraising, and governance experience to municipal leadership.
Political divisions threaten democratic foundations that have sustained our republic for nearly 250 years. We must restore consensus on essential democratic norms: accepting election results, ensuring equal justice under law, respecting constitutional limits as liberty safeguards, and rejecting military force in domestic politics. To achieve this requires cross-party engagement, good-governance focus, and leveraging constitutional law expertise to counter misinformation and strengthen democratic norms. It is my priority to defend municipal self-determination through political action and, if necessary, litigation, utilizing federalism principles and Ohio's home rule provisions.
Development: Strategic zoning and variance consideration to encourage responsible development in planned development corridors to boost tax revenue while providing resident amenities. Family Support: Expand after-school and summer programs using pay-to-play model covering costs. Community Fitness: Extend pool hours and seasons with creative staffing like resident lifeguard training. Community: Create DORAs in limited downtown city areas to encourage restaurant proliferation as well as community gatherings and festivals within the city. Fiscal Approach: Self-funding or revenue-neutral initiatives supporting sustainable growth.
I would leverage central Ohio's population growth through targeted zoning in commercial border corridors to achieve four goals: (1) enhance the city's tax base, (2) attract and retain high-quality amenities for residents, (3) create dignified and timeless architecture for long-term appeal, and (4) integrate green environmentally friendly spaces with walkable/bikeable access. The addition of vertical housing and walkable/bikeable amenities and businesses also responds to likely challenges of increased traffic in central Ohio and may provide options for young professionals and seniors who find it hard to afford a traditional single-family house at the land prices that now prevail in Upper Arlington.
I have already made it a central priority to listen to residents and stakeholders by making personal candidate-to-voter discussions a cornerstone of my campaign. I have personally visited approximately 3600 houses at the time of this writing in late August, and hope to reach several thousand more by election day. After being elected, I pledge always to be available to residents who wish to share their concerns. For major decisions, I would support the use of statistically relevant sample-size resident polling to determine community member preferences.
With experience in the judiciary and non-profit governance, I understand the necessity of consensus in order to move decision-making forward. To achieve legitimacy with everyone, even those who may disagree with a decision, requires attentive listening, demonstrated understanding of the various points of view, and that one be grateful for and respectful of all voices. One must start with a presumption of good will and openness both in yourself and in how you see other participants. Only if someone clearly abuses your good will, is it appropriate to react defensively. Finally, almost all such discussions and decisions go better with social engagement in the community--disagreements between friends are temporary and kinder.
