Occupation Management and Technology Consultant; Manufacturing and Energy Portfolio Leader, Ohio
Education Masters of International Management
Qualifications for Office I am a seasoned, solutions-driven business leader with 25+ years of experience - including financial management, technology adoption, and change management. I champion sustainable planning and resilient systems that protect our neighborhoods and serve generations to come. I advocate for transparency, equity, and meaningful community engagement to ensure every Bexley voice is heard and valued.
Two key challenges that Bexley faces are housing affordability and sustainability. As a business leader, I support practical, cost-conscious solutions like accessory dwelling units and mixed-income developments to help seniors, young families, and middle-income neighbors stay rooted here. As a community builder, I'll champion sustainability initiatives that reduce emissions and save money - like energy-efficient upgrades and green infrastructure. These investments protect our environment and stretch taxpayer dollars. As a Bexley believer, I'm committed to smart growth that preserves our city's character and keeps it vibrant, resilient, and welcoming for generations to come.
As a business leader, I'll bring fiscal discipline to City Council while advancing key priorities like affordable housing, sustainability, cybersecurity, and inclusive community-building. I'll support ADUs and mixed-income developments to expand housing options without burdening taxpayers. As a community builder, I'll champion sustainability projects like energy-efficient upgrades that reduce emissions and save money. I'll also support One Bexley's mission to foster belonging across race, faith, and income. As a Bexley believer, I'll ensure our city meets new cybersecurity standards, protecting resident data through smart investments and regional partnerships.
As a business leader, I’ll ensure Bexley plans smartly for Central Ohio growth by investing in resilient infrastructure and sustainable transit. Our century-old sewers and streets need proactive upgrades, and I’ll pursue grants, like the $13.6M secured for Livingston Avenue, to fund improvements without overburdening taxpayers. As a community builder, I’ll support safer sidewalks, bike lanes, and transit connections that reduce traffic and expand access. I’ll also champion green infrastructure - like permeable pavement and native plantings - to manage stormwater and protect our environment. As a Bexley believer, I’ll ensure growth strengthens, not strains, our city’s charm, walkability, and long-term resilience.
As a business leader, I'll use technology ethically and creatively to connect with residents via interactive newsletters, digital surveys, and online forums that invite real dialogue. But I won't wait for people to come to City Hall. As a community builder, I'll bring the conversation to them by hosting pop-up office hours, attending neighborhood events, and walking the neighborhoods - meeting folks where they are. I'll support One Bexley's mission to foster belonging and ensure diverse voices are heard. As a Bexley believer, I'll close the feedback loop and show how input shapes decisions and build trust through transparency. Engagement should be easy, inclusive, and empowering.
As a business leader, I approach conflict with transparency, data, and a problem-solving mindset. I'll convene stakeholders early, listen sincerely, and seek common ground whether it's with neighbors, developers, or city staff. As a community builder, I'll foster respectful dialogue and inclusive workshops and proactive outreach, ensuring all voices are heard. I'll use facts to clarify concerns and explore win-win solutions, like phased plans or pilot programs. As a Bexley believer, I'll lead with empathy and civility because in a city of neighbors, consensus isn't just possible, it is essential to progress. Even when we disagree, we can move forward together with shared purpose and mutual respect.

Occupation Law Office Of Spencer J Cahoon – Attorney, Small Business Owner
Education Juris Doctor - George Washington University, BA - Social Work & Accounting – Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Certificate – Business (data) Analytics – Cornell University
Qualifications for Office I’m an attorney experienced in legislative drafting and state & local advocacy. I bring strong research skills to identify best practices and emerging research. My accounting & data analytics background positions me to provide critical program & fiscal oversight. I also have two children at Montrose Elementary and have been deeply engaged in community organizations & events for years.
SAFER SCHOOL CROSSINGS – Two children were struck crossing main street for school. To prevent further incidents, we need solutions such as adding flashing signals and shifting police patrol cars to Broad Street & Main Street areas during school crossing times.

IMPROVED HOUSING OPPORTUNITY - We should: (1) implement accessory dwelling units (small above garage or backyard apartments), (2) improve our existing inclusionary zoning laws to mandate (not merely incentivize) affordable units in new housing development, and (3) promote housing development. These changes support children returning to the community as young professionals, empty nesters downsizing, multigenerational families, seniors, teachers, and police officers.
SAFER SCHOOL CROSSINGS: Financed with existing police and city funding.

IMPROVED HOUSING OPPORTUNITY: Accessory dwelling units - no fiscal impact. Inclusionary zoning changes - no fiscal impact. Promoting housing development - existing Community Improvement Corporation funding.

DEADBEAT CONTRACT PROTECTIONS: Making contractor licensing public and easily accessible through the city’s website - existing city website resources. Contractor licensing education and messaging - no meaningful fiscal impact.

IMPROVED CITY COUNCIL ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES & TRANSPARENCY: Implemented through rule changes, existing email and virtual resources, and better advance planning – no fiscal impact
Implementing accessory dwelling units is an important part of the housing solution. The other major parts are: (1) making sure that we are on the lookout for housing development opportunities; (2) finding ways to encourage development through our Community Improvement Corporation, Tax Increment Financing, and supporting excellent infrastructure to keep Bexley competitive; and (3) implementing mandatory inclusionary zoning (currently discretionary) to make sure we have a mix of housing that meets the needs of our diverse community.
This is a key priority for me. I’ll work to expand the current public comment process, which only permits in-person comments, to allow for written comments and comments delivered virtually. This is intended to make it easier for busy families to engage with city council. I will also work to create more advance notice than the few days we currently provide so that community members have time to provide input. I’m considering creating a brief podcast summary of the highlights of each city council meeting so that our neighbors can keep track of what’s happening without attending a multi-hour meeting. Of course, I’ll also be engaged with numerous community organizations, events, and office hours to meet and talk with neighbors.
My first step will be to listen to different groups to understand both what they seek and, critically, why they are seeking it. It’s often best to identify the community value underlying each group’s position. While different groups may seek different specifics, they often have shared community values. Once those shared values are identified, it becomes much easier to create a solution that addresses them. Similarly, while groups might disagree with each other, they often still respect the other group’s values. Discussing with each group how to address the values of the other can foster better understanding, empowerment, and creative problem solving.

One significant challenge in our community is providing affordable housing. While I am not opposed to affordable housing, we need to have ample community input before any large decisions would be made. I believe these issues should be voted upon by the public.
My top priorities include: Ensuring the safety of our citizens, providing integrity and honesty in decisions, increasing community dialogue, and prioritizing people over profits.
Bexley is currently constructing a mixed use building on Main St, The Fitzgerald, which will accommodate 232 residential units. Also under consideration are Accessory Dwelling Units, which will allow citizens to build small spaces on their properties. Bexley is landlocked, so our options are limited, but we are doing our best to accommodate the increase in population in Central Ohio.
Transparency and communication are key. The city’s proposed ordinances and resolutions are published in our weekly email, The Bexley Blast, and every council meeting is recorded and available for viewing to the public.
Ideally large issues would be brought to a ballot and voted upon. It makes the process slower but would ensure a more democratic process. Bexley does an excellent job of having several readings before any ordinance or resolution is passed, giving ample time for the public to share their opinions.

Qualifications for Office A corporate leader in associate engagement, with a career focused on leadership development, collaboration, and listening-first decision making. She has served as PTO President, VP, and current Middle School VP. She has been a board member for The Childhood League and Pint Sized Protesters. Gina brings a proven record of fostering inclusive conversations and ensuring all voices are heard.
One of Bexley's challenges is ensuring residents' voices are meaningfully included in decisions about growth, safety, and infrastructure. My strength lies in creating space for crucial conversations — listening fully, bringing forward different perspectives, and building consensus around thoughtful solutions. Another challenge is balancing improvements to streets and public spaces with fiscal responsibility. Through my professional career in leadership development and my service on local nonprofit boards, I've learned how to navigate complex issues with transparency and collaboration. On Council, I will focus on practical, forward-looking solutions that reflect both our community's immediate needs and our long-term vision for Bexley.
My top priority is enhancing communication between residents and city leadership so more people can engage meaningfully in our community. Nothing is "broken", but often residents face overlapping events or overlook information, which makes it harder to participate. I want to meet people where they are by expanding tools that centralize resources and create more accessible forums, so residents can easily stay informed and involved. I also value continued investments in safe public spaces and infrastructure that reflect our needs and long-term vision. Financing these priorities will come through careful budgeting rather than adding costs. With experience leading crucial conversations, I know how to bring people together, and listen first.
Central Ohio's rapid population growth will bring new pressures. For Bexley, the balance is challenging our community's character with the need to plan responsibly for the future. I believe growth decisions must start with listening to residents and understanding their priorities. Thoughtful investments in infrastructure- green spaces, roads, and public facilities- should be paired with housing options that are sustainable and respectful of our neighborhoods. My experience in leading crucial conversations prepares me to bring diverse perspectives together to engage in healthy dialogue so Bexley can adapt to growth with foresight, inclusion, and collaboration.
Engaging residents begins with meeting people where they are and creating more accessible ways to share input. I would prioritize regular listening sessions and use of digital tools that make it easy for busy families and neighbors to stay connected. I also believe in showing up- at schools, community events, and neighborhood gatherings- so conversations can happen naturally. My professional background has taught me how to listen fully, consider all perspectives, and build consensus even on complex issues. As a council member, I will ensure that decisions are shaped not only by data, but by the lived experiences and voices of residents, so Bexley's future reflects the priorities of our whole community.
My approach to building consensus starts with creating space for all perspectives to be heard. I stay curious and believe that disagreements often happen when we don't have all the information or we feel unheard. I focus on listening fully and asking the right questions to clarify needs and concerns. My professional experience in leadership development and certifications has equipped me with tools to navigate difficult conversations, find common ground, and move forward to healthy dialogue. I work to reframe issue around shared purpose and community goals, so even when we don't agree on every detail, we can align on what matters most for Bexley's future.

Qualifications for Office Bexley City Council President (Councilmember for 8 years), experienced attorney/community volunteer, Bexley resident of 25 years, former President of Bexley Womens Club, and proud Mom of two Bexley graduates.
The most significant challenge facing our community is the rising cost of everyday living, like groceries and home ownership. I want all residents to live in affordable, safe, and clean spaces that provide a comfortable standard of living and being able to pay for everyday living obligations. I have advocated for more affordable housing so that we can keep our current families here and create avenues for new families. I will ensure that we have fiscally responsible city budgets that pay down debt, save for the future, and allocate reasonable dollars to our varied needs, such as vital infrastructure maintenance, senior citizen engagement and activity space, and safety and sustainability resources so Bexley can remain as vibrant as ever.
The priorities for my term consist of protecting taxpayer dollars with smart financial practices while advocating to pay down city debt, funding crime fighting equipment & safety resources to keep Bexley safe, supporting initiatives for a greener Bexley and business development along Bexley's corridors, prioritizing our city's infrastructure to protect our homes and neighborhoods, increasing services and programming for all residents, including our senior citizens, and continuing to advocate for affordable housing and economic growth. I will finance my priorities by remaining diligent in my analysis of City budgets when City Council votes on those budgets every fall while advocating for our residents' most important needs coupled.
The incoming population growth of Central Ohio will be significant. As a Councilmember, I advocate for the creation of more affordable housing in Bexley (home ownership or rental homes). While Bexley is a landlocked community, I am mindful of the future impact of a rising population on our City services and it is manageable. For several years, I have also prioritized vital infrastructure repairs, maintenance and upgrades so that our sewers, sidewalks, and streets can be addressed ahead of schedule with the most beneficial cost savings possible. I have also advocated for solid partnerships and increased action from the City of Columbus regarding Livingston Ave. which impact our residents every day (but is within Columbus' jurisdiction).
Citizen participation matters. Residents are welcome to give public comment at Council meetings and I typically arrive early to each meeting to talk with residents about issues they care about. After each Council meeting, I personally prepare a summary for the Bexley Blast (City’s weekly newsletter) regarding votes that were taken by Council at the previous Council meeting so that residents can be aware. I encourage any resident who has expertise in a variety of areas (development, landscape, real estate, etc) to apply for any vacancy to serve on our Boards or Commissions so that their knowledge can be shared with our community and their voice can be part of the decision making too.Residents can also email me at mlampke@bexley.org anytime.
As a lawyer and experienced Councilmember for the past 8 years, I am adept at building consensus, finding common ground where possible while also understanding that we may have to agree to disagree at times. I am also a member of different community stakeholder groups and I regularly invite them to share updates at our Council meetings while similarly providing Council updates at their meetings. When residents offer public comments during Council meetings, it is their chance to share their views and opinions with me and I listen to them with the purpose of understanding and appreciating their opinions- it is their time to talk. I also regularly meet residents one on one to share dialogue and respond on a daily basis to inquiries.

Qualifications for Office I am an attorney and a current member of Bexley City Council. I have served as both the Health and Safety Chair, as well as the Zoning and Development Chair. I also serve on several local non-profit Boards.
Bexley’s biggest challenges are housing affordability and community safety. Rising costs make it harder for seniors, young families, and longtime residents to remain here. That’s why I led zoning updates and introduced an Ordinance to approve accessory dwelling units (ADUs), to provide flexible, modest housing options while preserving neighborhood character. On safety, I promised to strengthen community policing, and through my work on the search committee, we hired our Chief, whose leadership has built trust and accountability. Addressing these challenges means continuing the work to expand housing choices and investing in proactive, transparent policing so Bexley remains safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone.
My top priorities are expanding housing options, strengthening city services, supporting community policing, and investing in sustainable infrastructure. I introduced ADUs and championed Bexley’s first HR role, to better support city employees and residents. I also sponsored Ordinances to provide a safer community. Looking ahead, I want to modernize infrastructure for walkability, safety, and sustainability. To help finance these initiatives, I will look to attract businesses to help expand our tax base. This approach allows us to invest in Bexley’s future without overburdening residents, ensuring that we balance fiscal responsibility with forward-looking improvements that keep our city strong, safe, and welcoming.
As Central Ohio grows, Bexley must adapt. Being land-locked, we won’t see large-scale expansion but must prepare for regional impacts. Housing affordability is key, and I’ve advanced solutions, including mixed-use development in commercial areas, to create flexible housing without changing neighborhood character. Infrastructure must also evolve. We must look for more inclusive mobility options, whether that is public transportation, or safer biking lanes. Moving forward, we must invest in these initiatives while protecting green spaces and our arboretum. By combining thoughtful zoning, sustainable infrastructure, and smart regional planning, Bexley can remain a welcoming and walkable community even as Central Ohio continues to grow.
Engagement is the foundation of my service. Good governance starts with listening, so I make myself accessible at community events, through direct conversations, and via email. On Council, I initiated Office Hours for all members, to give residents extra opportunities to connect with their representatives. Many of my priorities have come from resident input. I also engage proactively with groups like the Bexley Minority Parent Alliance and the Chamber to understand their needs. Transparency matters, so I communicate regularly ensuring residents know what decisions are made and why. My goal is simple, every resident should feel their voice matters, even when we disagree. If re-elected, I will continue to lead by listening and engaging.
Disagreements are natural in any community. As a lawyer, I deal with them daily. However, my approach is rooted in respect, collaboration, and problem-solving. I start by listening to all perspectives, ensuring opinions are heard. From there, I look for shared values to find common ground. Finally, I work toward practical compromises. For example, with the development on Main Street, we balanced housing needs with neighborhood character by allowing flexibility while preserving tradition. Success in this role isn’t about winning, but about moving forward together. As a Council member, I’ve built consensus by bridging differences, focusing on shared goals, and keeping Bexley’s best interests at heart. That’s how I’ve driven Bexley forward.
