WARREN CITY CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSAL TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO MAKE INTERIM APPOINTMENTS AND EXTEND THE APPOINTMENTS WITH APPROVAL FROM THE COUNCIL
The city charter does not specifically authorize the mayor to make interim appointments of appointive andadministrative officers to vacant positions. This proposal will authorize the mayor to make interimappointments of existing city employees to appointive and administrative positions for a period of threemonths pending completion of a selection and appointment process. Any interim appointment can beextended three additional months with council approval.PROPOSAL: Should the mayor be able to make interim appointments of appointive and administrativeofficers for three months with the option to extend the appointment an additional three months withcouncil approval?
