Qualifications for Office
I currently serve as the Councilmember for District 4.
Two major challenges facing Columbus are improving public safety and addressing the affordability crisis. Safety remains a top concern, and we must continue working on real solutions that make residents feel safe while using resources wisely. As chair of the Public Safety Committee, I’ve partnered with Police, Fire, and Neighborhoods to make our communities safer. Affordability is also critical. We need to build more housing, protect tenants, and lower costs. I'm proud of our work on ZoneIn and LinkUs to boost transportation availability, infrastructure and update zoning to allow for more housing. There's more to do, and I’m ready to keep pushing forward.
In my next term on Columbus City Council, I’ll focus on the core needs of our growing city: safety, transit, and equitable development. Columbus must invest in modern, well-staffed safety services while expanding community-based responses like mental health and violence prevention. I’ll continue pushing initiatives like ZoneIn and LinkUs to improve transit, reduce traffic, and connect neighborhoods. As we grow, we must protect affordability, support small businesses, and build mixed-use housing near transit. This work takes smart budgeting, strong partnerships, and a long-term vision. I’m ready to continue building a safer, more connected, and more equitable Columbus.
Serving on Columbus City Council is a serious responsibility, and it's been an honor to do this work. Councilmembers oversee city departments, pass budgets, and serve as a voice for residents. The job takes experience, persistence, and a deep understanding of how the city works. I've spent years making sure our resources are used wisely, pushing for transparency, and holding departments accountable. I’ve helped guide legislation, built partnerships, and stayed connected to our neighborhoods. I ran for office to make government work for people — and that’s still my goal. I bring the experience, consistency, and dedication needed to keep delivering for Columbus.
Engaging residents has always been central to my work. I’ve built long-term relationships with area commissions, civic groups, nonprofits, and small businesses across Columbus. These partnerships help me understand what neighborhoods need and how policies affect real people. I’ve worked to make our budget process and legislative work more open and accessible, and I always follow up with residents so they know their voices were heard. As Columbus grows, I’ll keep expanding opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. Engagement isn’t just a campaign promise, it’s a daily responsibility I take seriously and will continue to prioritize every day I serve.
After spending nearly 8 years on Columbus City Council, I’ve learned that disagreement isn’t a weakness – it’s part of governing a diverse, growing city. My role is to turn different perspectives into real solutions. I start by listening, creating space for honest dialogue, and focusing on shared goals. Strong relationships built over time help me bring people back to the table when tensions rise. I stay focused on outcomes, not positions, and keep the process transparent so all voices feel included. This approach helped us move forward on tough issues like police reform. I’ll continue using these tools in my next term to navigate disagreements and deliver results for Columbus.
