Rapid growth is the most significant challenge. To address it, I would prioritize sustainable development through a comprehensive growth management plan. Partnering with developers and utilizing programs like TIF to bring in business and upgrade roads to handle increased demand ensuring projects are funded equitably without overburdening taxpayers. Communicating with residents, businesses, and the Canal Winchester Development Department to guide decisions, fostering transparency so growth benefits everyone. Balance the growth: Ensuring we follow the Community Plan which was recently updated that is our guide to balancing growth between business, commercial, industrial, residential, and parks & recreation.
From a macro level it is a priority to create a stronger working relationship with neighboring cities to protect our community's resources, quality of life, and unique identity. The expansion of some of the bordering city’s risks straining our infrastructure and increasing local costs, which could disrupt the character of our neighborhoods. This priority is about building relationships and working with other leaders to set goals that are mutually beneficial to all residents.

From a micro level I would like to increase the miles of multi-use trails to make it easier for individuals and families to get around to all parts of the city without using automobiles.
With Central Ohio’s population projecting to grow by 500-700,000 by 2050, all communities will need to plan for additional housing. My approach would be a collaboration with developers and builders to add single family homes and ensure our city thrives as a vibrant place to live, work, and raise families. I would also work with the City Development Department exploring various programs like CITA and NCA.
Make sure the stakeholders are heard I will attend a variety of public events and meetings including but not limited to: Council Connect, Chamber of Commerce, Destination Canal Winchester. I will also be available through Council Email and by phone.
From my experience in sales, mergers, and acquisitions, I know the first step in success and building consensus is listening. But more than listening is understanding of what is being said. After listening and understanding comes a time to communicate and talk through the challenges so that all parties can appreciate the other opinions and desires, even if it is not their preferred outcome.

Qualifications for Office I bring a unique combination of service and leadership to this role. As a veteran, I understand the value of duty, integrity and teamwork. In my career in manufacturing, I’ve gained experience solving complex problems, managing budgets and making sound decisions. These experiences have prepared me to listen, lead and serve our community effectively on city council.
One of the biggest challenges facing Canal Winchester is how we handle growth. New development can bring exciting opportunities, but it also raises concerns from residents about traffic, crowded schools and our community’s infrastructure. As a council member, I’ll make sure growth follows the vision in the 2023 Community Plan - preserving our small-town charm while meeting housing needs. We need to ensure roads, water and emergency services are scalable and can keep up with the future of Canal Winchester. With careful planning now, we’ll be ready for growth ahead.
My top priorities are managing growth responsibly, promoting smart economic development and protecting essential city services. I want development that aligns with the 2023 Community Plan, attracts new businesses and ensures we can maintain quality schools, safe neighborhoods and reliable services.

By using tax dollars wisely and encouraging business growth that benefits residents, we can keep Canal Winchester strong and vibrant for years to come.
Central Ohio’s growth is already reaching Canal Winchester, and we need to manage it carefully. The key is protecting our small-town character while ensuring homes are available for future residents. That means thoughtful development that doesn’t overcrowd our schools or stretch our services too thin. We also need to ensure our roads, water and emergency services are scalable so they’re ready for the future. With smart planning, we can welcome new neighbors and still maintain the small-town feel we all value in Canal Winchester.
Elected officials work for you. I believe in servant leadership - listening first, acting with integrity and always being accessible to the people I represent. I plan to keep open lines of communication through regular community meetings, neighborhood forums and active use of digital platforms to make it easier for residents to share feedback. I will approach every decision with a commitment to listening first, making sure the voices of Canal Winchester residents guide how we grow and move forward.
My approach to building consensus starts with listening. Residents, businesses and city leaders may not always agree, but we all want a safe, thriving community. I believe in open conversation, finding common ground and working toward practical solutions. When disagreements come up, I’ll focus on transparency, respect and facts to make decisions that are fair and best for Canal Winchester’s future.

The most significant challenge facing the city is the rapid growth and development while maintaining our safe, family-friendly, small-town atmosphere. Development needs to be guided using the community plan, developed over 15 months with wide ranging input from the community. I look at the community plan as a contract between the city and residents. I have and I will continue to use the community plan as my guide when making development decisions. Also, policing strategies are an important part of keeping our community safe. I’ve persistently worked on increasing our police presence and adding technology tools to assist law enforcement effectiveness and will continue to do so.
1. Listen, serve, and advocate for Canal Winchester residents 2. Protect our small-town feel 3. Transparency in government 4. Fiscal responsibility 5. Police protection for residents and businesses 6. Connector road from Gender to Bixby 7. Lobby ODOT for 33 Improvements 8. Safety at the Canal Winchester City Pool

The general fund for the City of Canal Winchester is funded primarily by income tax revenues. The city has seen tax receipts grow over the last couple of years as more jobs come to the city.

The City of Canal Winchester is in good position to handle the population growth of Central Ohio. We have a community plan in place to guide the city addressing future growth, we have approved and broken ground on a new wastewater treatment plant and have been using TIF programs to capture tax revenue for future infrastructure needs. This revenue can only be used to improve the infrastructure in the areas it’s collected in. For example, there is a Gender Road TIF fund with a current balance of over $1 million. There are multiple TIFS across the city in place for infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
I am constantly asking our residents their opinions and ideas on issues facing our community. I meet with residents and schedule follow up meetings with the appropriate city staff as needed. I am available via email or by phone at 614-783-6706. As a city council person my job is to represent the various views of our residents to city staff and other parties.
Building consensus and resolving disagreements involves lots of questions and listening. Understanding what people's goals and intentions are goes a long way to resolving disagreements.
