Benzie County- Lake Township Fire and Emergency Services Millage
LAKE TOWNSHIP PROPOSALLAKE TOWNSHIP FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES MILLAGEShall the constitutional limitation on the total amount of ad valorum taxes imposed on real and personal property for all purposes in the Township of Lake, Benzie County, Michigan, be increased by 03950 mill ($0.3950 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for a period of five (5) years (2025 through 2029, inclusively) for the purpose of providing fire protection, emergency medical, hazardous materials response and other emergency services in the Township?The purpose of the millage levy is to provide fire protection, emergency medical, hazardous materials response and other emergency services in the Township. It is estimated that a levy of 0.3950 mill would provide a revenue of $139,683.16 in the first calendar year. Funds derived from this millage levy will be disbursed to the Township of Lake and may also be disbursed under contract to the City of Frankfort or other local units of government approved by the Township for fire protection, emergency medical, hazardous materials response and other emergency services.
