Elected Precinct Officer, owner of Willow Barn Ranch, owner of Norse Woodworking, former director of YYSA & SOZO, Former grant writer for Ahtanum Youth Park, Security Administration Supervisor for 27J,
Commissioners handle the budget and policy of the administrative side of the fire districts. I have handled $1,000,000 to 38,000,000 budgets and various grants. The fire district is in need of heavy policy review and budget practices which fiscally prepare the district to meet its needs. I plan to implement and hire grant writers which the district does not have to try and replace the need of constantly lethargically raising property taxes; with grant writers we can subsidize needs and begin a 10 year plan to replace and expand all facilities with renewable energy sources and efficiency that will see long term stability. For too long the can has been neglected and kicked down the road which media and journalism has pointed out over the past decade. We need able recruitment that seeks to be inclusive of societies needs not at its expense and dwindling. Let’s work together to build a sustainable future and budget practices that doesn’t burden our working class.
As one of the lowest levels of office within Yakima County. I wanted to prove to the voters that I can run a business from ground up but also volunteer and help resolve our needs within the district at a lower level which allows the voter to see what I can or cannot do in which gains their trust for future elected office. I’d rather show the voter I can handle a smaller office before trying to ask them for a higher office as a responsible citizen and adult.
Facility upgrades, repairs, expansions, and sustainable practices. The budget is failing and unless addressed with proper vision and a 10 year goal the infrastructure and the recruitment will suffer leading to unprepared safety and higher taxes on the working class folks which is entirely preventable by implementing proper planning and hiring grant writers to take advantage of proper resources before asking the tax payer to be burdened due to our laziness to actually manage systems like a business owner would have to. We want to see better and higher recruitment and give the proper facilities and resources to create a future of sustainability. Kicking can down the road isn’t working.
A full systematic review of policies and procedures will be conducted to better target and diversify the work force through better targeted categories in which will help not only create specific lines of recruitment to entry level and even students or younger generations, but also enable older generations and others to apply to a specific job rather than a generalized slate which could lead to unnecessary obstacles and training leading to less recruitment and or expenses that could have been avoided with proper career building and applications. For instance only drivers need a CDL the 18 year old can easily and should be capable of applying to just be a passenger. He shouldn’t have to wait till he’s 21 to get his cdl to be an important asset to the community. By categorizing jobs appropriate we open recruitment for labor needs we would have normally right now prevented by not properly managing applications for specific jobs. We need to stop being lazy about HR and recruitment.
