Wahkiakum County Assessor
The county assessor is responsible for determining the true and fair value of locally assessed properties, real and personal. The assessor does not determine or raise taxes. It is the responsibility of the county assessor to administer the tax laws of the state of Washington and to value all property subject to taxes as mandated by the Washington State Legislature. It is also the responsibility of the assessor to calculate the levies imposed by the various taxing districts and additional special levies for which the people have voted. The assessor also must maintain public records of each tax parcel and the assessed valuation.
