Experience (300 characters max) I have 36 years of fire service experience and nearly 12 years as a fire commissioner.
My top priorities are to continue to support the responsible growth of the agency, work collaboratively with our neighbors and do this while being fiscally accountable.
As more people move into, or travel through our communities, it inherently brings more risk of fires. Our Community Risk Reduction Division provides fire prevention information to our citizens and business owners through various ways on how to minimize the risk of fires. Some examples are; public education, business fire inspections and plan reviews for new construction.

When a fire does occur, having the appropriate resources and highly trained personnel strategically located throughout our fire district helps mitigate the incidents in a safe and timely fashion.
The board of fire commissioners meet the second and forth Wednesday of each month. During these meetings we provide an opportunity for the public to comment on any issues affecting the fire district. There have been times that we have gone out to communities within the fire district to meet with the citizens and hear their concerns.
By ensuring that we have the appropriate resources (EMT’s and paramedics) strategically located throughout the fire district to respond to medical emergency calls. We are currently working collaboratively with a neighboring agency to co-staff a medic unit to help address the increased emergency calls.
Yes, good question. I would like to set long-term and short-term goals for a fire chief and hope for a better community. Involvement with our fire department to education. I also wanna provide the best service we can without raising taxes and keep some of the most talented personality have in the state with our fire department with the top equipment for them to respond on.
Yes, a** are community grows. There will be a uprising in fires through education and exposure. With the fire department reaching out through the school's to very safety programs. CPR classes, cert programs. We can stress fire safety and basic. Ems life support systems that the public can use to save a loved one and need. Yes, if I find myself engaging with people very easily. People find me kind courteous and knowledge ball. And once we set a goal, we need to strive to get that past Safeway without any problems and the support of the community, and to better our fire department over the years.
I find it easy to engage with my other fire commissioners. As I'm a good listener, easy to talk to. And open the suggestions and as long as we share a common goals for the better, the best of our community and our fire department. I will be there for you.
So you want your best personnel? Both your EMT's and your medics. Which just bought BLS calls and AOS calls. Add to be highly trained and to train all the time. To better their actions and also to have good equipment on a rotating basis. So we're getting Newark equipment. When the older equipment wears out, we've got nowhere. Equipment to replace them should be budgeted with a good long-term goal.
