Experience (300 characters max) Current Everett City Councilmember, District 2. Legislative Aide to Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn (current). Director of Constituent Relations to King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski (previous). Legislative Staff to King County Councilmember Bob Ferguson (previous).
As your Councilmember, my top priorities are ensuring a safe, healthy, and affordable Everett for all. That means expanding access to housing, investing in public safety and behavioral health, and promoting responsible fiscal management. I’m also committed to strengthening city services, addressing climate resilience, and ensuring Everett grows in a way that reflects our community’s values. I bring a pragmatic, collaborative approach to problem-solving and am focused on delivering real results for Everett families.
I believe budgeting is a reflection of our values. I’ll prioritize funding that supports core services like public safety, infrastructure, housing, and behavioral health, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I’ll advocate for strategic, long-term investments that address root causes of poverty and crime and improve quality of life, particularly for vulnerable residents. Transparency, equity, and community input will continue to guide how I approach budget decisions.
I’m proud of Everett’s dedicated city staff, but we must modernize systems to improve transparency, community engagement, and service delivery. I support increased data-driven decision-making, investments in technology and infrastructure, and better outreach to ensure all neighborhoods have a voice in shaping policy. I’d also like to see more proactive collaboration across city departments to address complex challenges like homelessness and public safety.
A strong economy means supporting workers, small businesses, and long-term growth. I’ll champion investments in workforce development, infrastructure, and housing to ensure Everett remains an affordable, attractive place to live and work. I support expanding apprenticeship and training programs, promoting downtown revitalization, and leveraging our regional assets to create good-paying jobs and economic resilience for the future. During a second term I will continue to work on implementing policies that address storefront vacancies, enhance our arts and culture scene, and improve parking options in our downtown core.
We must ensure our city works for everyone. I support expanding language access, inclusive hiring practices, and ongoing DEI training for city staff. We should continue to embed equity in budgeting and planning processes and prioritize outreach to historically underserved communities. Everett is strongest when all voices are heard and represented—I’ll keep working to build a city government that reflects and serves our full community.
