Pierce FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 16 Commissioner - Position No. 1

6-year term; No salary. Per diem and reimbursement for some meeting expenses may be available to commissioners. A Fire District is responsible for fire response and containment and for emergency medical services. The commission sets the general policies of the district, which are implemented by the hired professional fire chief and fire district personnel.

I have lived public service.

I have worked in the fire service as both a wildland hotshot firefighter and fire department transportation paramedic.

I have the experience of being the provider giving the highest level of care to my patients and advocating for them in a broken healthcare system.

I know what it’s like to be a part of a fire department family and the struggles the fire departments go through as well with low funding.

I know what it’s like to work in a super diverse 911 system. (Income, language barriers, age etc.)

I bring a lot to the table with my empathy and years of experience witnessing terrible things happening to all kinds of people. I will always try to put myself in your shoes to understand your point of view
I kept hearing many negative things regarding our fire department on past mistakes they had made. I would like to help bridge the public, fire department, commissioners, and union to work together to fix those mistakes together. My heart is near and dear to the fire service and I felt in my core this way my way to help my community based on my experiences and knowledge.
Response Times Understaffed Stations Fire Fighter Safety Standards
I have combined 12 years of experience in the fire and ems field. I have a great deal of knowledge on the right and wrong way things should be done in regards to safety and wellness of the community and first responders. I will look out for all and do what is right.
