Experience (300 characters max) Lived in Pierce County for 30 years, and I have my career in government, education, & healthcare. My children have been in Puyallup Schools, and my son graduated with honors in 2025.
I have been in a few clubs as a treasurer, including the SilverCreek HOA. In addition, I was the legislative chair WSPTA for my region. All these experiences have taught me budgeting, accountability of public funds, & how to process internal bills that then were turned into laws.
I have learned to follow guidelines in groups which has enhanced my paying attention to land use, formal framework of procedures to get outcomes on votes, and civil discourse for hearing all sides of inputs. My two current committees have taught me to work with my neighbors and friends to bring change for making my community better. I have found our area to have kind, supportive, and courageous leaders and I want to continue to pay it forward for the generations to come. Accountability of public finances with audits is essential for lack of waste in government.
I want to see efficiency in government, so helping to support budgetary progress that keeps finances with balance priorities is key. I am open to other ideas since “we the people” deserve a voice in the Pierce County laws.
The current charter has good structure with elected officials so voters can have a say in qualified candidates. The biennium budget gives consistency and forecasting in a responsible manner. I am open to hearing ideas for building a strong charter.
