Experience (300 characters max)
Tacoma City Councilmember, Marine veteran, and former government affairs lead. I bring experience in public health, economic development, and coalition-building to champion working families, small businesses, and community safety at the local and regional level.
As a City Councilmember, I prioritize being present and accessible. I regularly attend community events, visit classrooms, and invite residents—especially youth—to City Hall to engage directly with local government. I believe that building trust starts with listening, showing up, and staying accountable. My background in government affairs and the military taught me the value of direct communication and collaboration, and I carry those principles into public service. I also engage through neighborhood councils, town halls, and by responding directly to constituent concerns. Whether it's advocating for small businesses, supporting public health, or expanding youth programs, I work to ensure that community voices shape city policy. I believe in leading with transparency and in building partnerships that reflect the diverse needs of our city. My goal is to make government feel more open, more responsive, and more connected to the people it serves.
Our city has a direct role and responsibility in addressing environmental issues—both in reducing harm and creating healthier, more sustainable communities. As Chair of the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and a member of several regional planning boards, I’ve seen how local governments can lead on climate by advancing clean transportation, improving air quality, investing in green infrastructure, and holding polluters accountable.
Environmental justice must also be a priority. In Tacoma, frontline communities—often low-income and communities of color—have long faced the worst impacts of pollution and climate change. Our policies must center equity, ensuring that every neighborhood has access to clean air, safe water, and resilient infrastructure.
The city should lead by example: adopting sustainable practices, supporting green jobs, and partnering with residents, regional agencies, and tribal nations to build a more climate-resilient future.
Service to others has always guided my life. I served our country as a U.S. Marine and combat veteran, and I’ve continued that commitment at home as a community volunteer and public servant. Before joining the Tacoma City Council, I served as Chair of the South Tacoma Neighborhood Council, a Tacoma Public Utilities board member, and volunteered with numerous local organizations. I’ve worked to uplift working families, support small businesses, and expand opportunity for all. Public service isn’t just a role—it’s a lifelong responsibility I take seriously every day.
Homelessness is a crisis that demands both compassion and coordination. Our city must respond with urgency by addressing immediate needs—like emergency shelter, hygiene access, and street outreach—while also investing in long-term solutions such as deeply affordable housing, mental and behavioral health care, substance use treatment, and workforce development.
As a Councilmember, I’ve supported expanded shelter capacity, permanent supportive housing, and regional partnerships to strengthen our collective response. We must also focus on prevention—addressing rising housing costs and gaps in our systems that lead to folks ending up on the street.
At the core of our response I believe a Housing First approach and a commitment to treating every person with dignity. No single city can solve this alone, but we must lead with accountability, compassion, and measurable outcomes. Ending homelessness will take time, but by aligning our policies, budgets, and partnerships, we can make change.
My vision for Tacoma is a safe, healthy and welcoming city for all residents who call this place home. Where everyone has access and the opportunity to thrive and become the best versions of themselves. I truly believe we have the people and talent in this city to create lasting solutions to our most challenging problems and it's important that we have leaders that can bring these people together. I'm proud of working hard to bring people together from all walks of life to collaborate and lift our community up.

No Prior public experience, minus trying out for Lakewood Police in 2016.
I will create events, and town halls where my constituents will be able to contact me directly in person. I as well will be publishing any statements or work regarding the South End via my campaign page, Facebook account, and Twitter account. I believe in having an open door for ALL to be able to communicate with me, I want to usher in a new era of Transparency in Tacoma.
I believe that we should be expanding our tree canopy. With this plan if elected, I plan on tearing up Hosmer street. repaving it, adding medians, and islands instead of a center lane. In this median I intend to install Gary Oak trees, as well as pine trees, and other native plants.
My record of public service is none. In the past I have applied for Lakewood Police Department in 2016.
in District 5, which includes the South End and parts of East Tacoma, has seen a significant rise in homelessness over the past five years. A mix of economic hardship, housing scarcity, and systemic gaps in mental health and addiction services has pushed hundreds into the margins. The district is one of the most socioeconomically diverse in Tacoma, home to hardworking families, immigrants chasing better lives, and those who’ve slipped through the cracks. I believe the removal of unsheltered individuals from public streets by implementing a daytime camping ordinance, coupled with efforts to connect individuals with necessary services and housing pathways is what is required to ensure we end homelessness and the drug problem plaguing the South End.
My vision for Tacoma. the South End specifically, is to end homelessness, reduce crimes rates by allowing law enforcement to do their jobs, repair, and replace aging and broken infrastructure.
