I've been a local pastor for 18 years and served with numerous local non-profit boards and groups.
As a consumer, I want the best possible healthcare for my children, my family, and the people in this community whom I deeply care about. We haven’t always had that, which is why I’m committed to advocating for continuous improvement.
As a nonprofit leader, I’ve seen firsthand some of the most significant needs and challenges our community faces. That experience gives me a broader understanding of healthcare as a matter of community advocacy and equity.
As an organizational leader, I’ve developed a people-centered leadership philosophy. I’ve learned that when we treat employees with honor, dignity, and respect, they in turn provide better care to patients. The employees of KVH must be at the heart of the organization. Recruiting and retaining the best professionals isn’t just an HR issue—it’s a healthcare issue. As we support and strengthen our workforce, we will see the quality of local healthcare rise.
I have never ran for a political office. I am not a politician, I simply want to serve our community.
Our healthcare system is facing serious challenges at both the state and national levels. While we can’t solve those problems locally, their impact is felt here—especially in KVH’s financial health. That’s why we need strong, wise leadership to help our hospital district navigate these pressures. In the season ahead, we must prioritize responsible financial stewardship to ensure KVH remains stable and sustainable. A financially sound hospital is better equipped to recruit and retain top providers and build a strong support staff around them. I believe employee recruitment and retention is our top priority—because investing in people is essential to delivering the quality care our community deserves.
The KVH team did an amazing job of navigating through so many unexpected challenges in the last pandemic. I'm confident that they will be even more prepared in the future having learned so many lessons from the past.
