Experience (300 characters max) I bring 30+ years in business, real estate, and negotiation, plus past service on Maple Valley’s Council and Planning Commission. I’ve led on budgets, zoning, and infrastructure, and know how to build partnerships that get results for residents and businesses.
I bring over 30 years of experience in business, real estate, and negotiation, along with public service on the Maple Valley City Council and Planning Commission. I’ve led efforts involving city budgets, infrastructure reinvestment, and long-term planning, and helped pass a successful community parks bond. As a small business owner, I understand firsthand the challenges local businesses face, including taxes, permitting, and the need for economic certainty. I’ve also partnered with civic groups and led large-scale community events. These experiences have prepared me to lead with both a practical mindset and the collaborative approach Milton needs to move forward. I know how to ask the right questions, build strong partnerships, and get things done for the people I serve.
My record includes service on the Maple Valley City Council and Planning Commission, where I worked to pass a voter-supported parks bond and helped shape sustainable development policies. I’ve organized large community events, supported programs for seniors and youth, and focused on connecting residents with their local government. My approach to public service centers on accessibility, transparency, and action. I’ve also volunteered with civic initiatives and local efforts to engage underrepresented voices. Whether I’m helping a neighbor navigate city services or contributing to long-range planning, I believe public service is about showing up, listening well, and doing the work to build a stronger, more inclusive community.
Milton has so much potential, but for too long, we’ve seen reactive leadership and missed opportunities. I’m running for mayor to help our city move forward with purpose. Our infrastructure is aging, our economy needs revitalization, and too many residents feel disconnected from the decisions that shape their lives. With experience in business and government, I know how to build partnerships and bring people together to solve problems. I want Milton to be a place where families see a future, seniors feel supported, and business owners can thrive without being overburdened. This campaign is about building momentum, expanding opportunity, and making sure our city works for everyone.
Milton’s most pressing issues are aging infrastructure, limited economic development, and a disconnect between city leadership and community members. Years of underinvestment have left roads, sidewalks, and city services in need of serious attention. At the same time, the lack of commercial growth has left residents and small businesses shouldering an unfair share of the tax burden. Many residents also feel like their voices aren’t being heard or represented. These issues are deeply connected, and addressing them requires leadership that understands both the operational side of city government and the importance of building trust and collaboration.
I will begin with a strategic plan to reinvest in infrastructure, focusing on long-term maintenance, safety improvements, and mobility. I will work to expand economic opportunity by creating partnerships with the Port of Tacoma, local businesses, and regional agencies to bring in living-wage jobs and commercial investment. To reduce the financial pressure on residents and small businesses, I’ll seek grants and diversify funding sources through regional collaboration and innovative partnerships. Finally, I will lead with openness and accessibility holding regular listening sessions, forming community advisory groups, and improving public communication so residents are informed, engaged, and empowered to shape Milton’s future.

Experience (300 characters max) Milton has been our home for 20 years. Acting as Mayor Pro Tem the last two years has brought me in touch with the responsibilities of leading a city, and serving on the city council the last eight years has been a pleasure and an honor.
Acting as Mayor Pro Tem the last two years has brought me in touch with the responsibilities of leading a city, and serving on the city council the last eight years has given me valuable experience and knowledge on how the city operates. I have a great working relationship with the city directors, and I use the directors knowledge in their area of expertise to make the most informed decision that I can. I enjoy playing my part representing the citizens of the City of Milton.
Aside from being on city council for eight years; I acted as secretary and president of a 501c3, the Milton Police Foundation as well as executive secretary for the Fife, Milton, and Edgewood Chamber of Commerce. More recently I have acted as an assistant instructor at the Karate Edge in Edgewood. Over the past few years I have been active at National Night Out, Milton Days, The Edgewood Picnic, and the Fife Harvest Festival. Additionally, I fill the role of Elder at Mission Woods Presbyterian Church in Milton.
The valuable experience I have gained working over the last eight years as a city council person and as Mayor Pro Tem for the last two years has provided me with experience and knowledge to run for mayor of the City of Milton.
One, traffic calming is the main issue with a majority of citizens with whom I have spoken. Two, make sure that the City of Milton retains that small-town image. Three, complete sections of missing sidewalks to enhance Milton's walkability.
One, install traffic calming devices recommended in the upcoming Transpo traffic study findings. Two, carefully manage the construction of new ADU's and the subdividing of existing lots to fill the affordable housing gap. Three, research, apply, and acquire grant funding to install much needed sidewalk gaps in the city.
