Everyone should be a good steward of the environment. The city shouldn't have a partisan view of the environment. Common sense needs to prevail.
served the nation for over 30 years
homelessness needs to be categorized in two fashions.
un-homed; which are people going through a difficult time. These people could use the assistance and programs provided by tax payers to help them get back on their feet.
homeless; people who chose to live on the streets. These people should be held to the laws of the average person. break the law and go to jail.
Creating a more friendly and user friendly city for the people. Make the city more welcoming. People need to be proud of the city and what the city leaders are doing for them. Stand up to over ruling government issues from the state which can run a small town into the ground with unnecessary rules and regulations

I have a bachelor's of Environmental Policy and Planning, and work fulltime for the 23 years with local Tribal Governments. I have decades of committee experience for the City and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. I have served on City Council since 2020.
During the campaign I will participate in candidate forums, respond to questions through email, and phone calls. I am a fixture in the community and attend public events and open houses to stay informed. I will also have handouts and mailers.
While in office I participate in community events, I work full time as a restoration planner and work with the local non-profits like the land trust, Washington Water Trust. I also respond and read constituent emails, and I serve on different committees throughout the community. I have 23 years' experience working for Tribal Government and have ties to the local Tribal Communities.
I also have strong community ties as I have lived here for over 50 years, and my heritage is tied to the community from time immemorial.
I believe the city has been a leader in environmental issues, we have a climate resiliency plan to reduce the cities GHG emissions due to city actions. We have a plan to strategically replace as vehicles with electric vehicles. We have obtained grants for electrical vehicle charging stations and are advocating to protect the Elwha River through the preservation/protection of DNR stands in the Elwha Watershed from being harvested. We partner with Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe to restore Ennis Creek in the city of Port Angeles by replacing culverts and we have partnered with Lower Elwha on a Restoration Project in the Elwha River.
The city has partnered with DOE and local groups on the cleanup of the Port Angeles Harbor and the Clean-up of the former Rayonier Mill Site. The city also supported the first hydro dam removal project on the Elwha River.
I have served on the City Council since 2020. For the city of Port Angeles I serve on the following boards:
William Shore Memorial Pool Board
Strait Ecosystem Recovery Network
Clallam County Marine Resources Committee-Chairperson
Utility Advisory Board-Alternate
For the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe I serve on the following boards:
Health Committee
Cannabis Board
Economic Development Board
Washington Water Trust Board
North Olympic Peninsula Lead Entity
I believe our city has been a leader addressing homelessness and addiction. The city's police and fire department partnered with Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic to establish the ReDiscovery Program and Community Paramed program. Both programs work with our most vulnerable population to help find help to get them into housing or treatment. The Cities Community Paramed program expanded to include operation hope and a year into this program Clallam County has moved from #2 county in the state with the highest per 100K overdoses/death to #11 county in the State.
As for homelessness we need transitional housing and have partnered with Peninsula Behavioral Health, Oly Cap, Peninsula Housing Authority, Habitat for Humanity, and 4 PA.
My vision for our city is to preserve the housing stock, while increasing dwelling units through the town. I see a community that does not rely on one type of economy. We need to diversify the economic portfolio. We need to transition from the idea that we are primarily a resource extraction community. Resource extraction needs to be done sustainably. I see a strong vibrant economy, while being environmental leaders, and providing housing for all. I envision a town safe for all, that is inclusive, and equitable to everyone who lives, works, and visits Port Angeles. We will be a town that promotes the cultural heritage of the Olympic Peninsula and the six different Tribes that have been here since time immemorial.
