Please provide your rationale for supporting or opposing these Constitutional Amendments in the 2026 Session:
- Qualifications of voters, right to vote, persons not entitled to vote
- Fundamental right to reproductive freedom
- Marriage between two adult persons
Based on the findings of the 2023 K-12 JLARC Study, what are your recommendations to best meet the needs of our K-12 students?
What will be your top legislative priorities if elected?
What do you consider to be the biggest impediments to voting in Virginia elections?

I support putting all 3 amendments on the ballot for voters to decide. Reproductive Freedom should be a choice between a woman, her healthcare provider and her God, whomever that might be. In my opinion, it's not for the legislature to decide. Marriage rights should be the same regardless of the gender of the participants. Once a debt is paid to society, people should return to being active members of our society including engaging in their civic duty to vote.
Investing in our children is one of the most important things we as legislators can do. All indications are the support cap for schools was eliminated in the most recent state budget providing needed financial support. This is very helpful but we also need to create a more appropriate funding methodology for our schools such that where a person lives does not determine the quality of their education. Our public schools deserve appropriate funding from the state and we need to make that a focus. We can continue to make strides each year toward the goals published in the JLARC study.
There are many areas that will need focus with all the changes coming from Washington but my highest priority will be protecting against the federal attacks on our healthcare -- namely Medicaid. Healthcare should not be a luxury, but a human right and we need more legislators who treat it as such by maintaining Medicaid Expansion for the 630,000 Virginia residents who currently have it as their primary healthcare insurance. We also need to maintain other areas of Medicaid that support the elderly in nursing homes and our children. In total, one in six District 40 residents utilize Medicaid. This will be a major priority and my career experience will be very valuable to help us navigate the financial support changes coming from DC.
We need to ensure that voters are not inappropriately purged from the voting rolls. This happened last year and we need to correct the situation so it cannot happen again. In addition, letting the voters of Virginia vote to restore rights to individuals who have served their time and are integrating back into society is important as well.
