The ever increasing real estate taxes are a major concern in the county. A tax system based on land use must be implemented to help alleviate the tax burden on private property owners of agricultural land. Another area that I have highlighted in my campaign is the continued liability of curb side trash collection. Collection centers with recycling ability is a viable alternative. A third area of concern is the mass exodus of our young people after high school. I believe the leadership needs to take a more active role in attracting and retaining businesses. Most importantly in the short term is that all county agencies and services be completely transparent on expenditures and stay within the budget set by the board .
