A judge’s primary duty is to apply the law faithfully—without bias and without an agenda. That means following statutes, respecting precedent, and treating everyone who comes into court with fairness and dignity. The role also involves managing a courtroom efficiently, ensuring everyone has a equal opportunity to be heard, and rendering timely thoughtful opinions.
