Experience
Approaching 30 years of increasing responsibility for revenue and market share for international and domestic media software developers
1. Proper Maintenance of all Township Roads and funding a capital expense budget for equipment replacement
2. Fiscal transparency, responsible funding and increased cooperation with each of the township's Emergency Medical Services, Fire and Police resources
3. Increasing opportunities for responsible development that provides housing and community for young families
4. Forecasting the revenue impact as residents age and their contribution to Earned Income Tax decreases
are all priorities for the residents of Springfield Township. Each of these overlap and require the cooperation of not only the Board of Supervisors but also productive input from our Staff, our Authorities, Boards and Commissions. Our Residents need to engage their representatives constructively.
No one person, and no one hundred people can do any of this quickly or easily. It has to be worked on every day and from multiple perspectives. I'm comfortable continuing to be a part of this process for our Residents.
Since being appointed to the Board in 2020, and elected to a 4 year term in November 2021, I have participated in multiple Conditional Use Hearings involving complex concerns of residents. Prior to this, I was a member of the Parks and Recreation Board and participated in the establishment of Peppermint Park. Before that, I was someone upset about water in my basement who sought the Township's help.
During each of these experiences, the need for patience, empathy and most of all, the willingness to learn about new things has been necessary.
Twenty-six years as a resident and member of the Springfield Township community has brought me into contact with families and institutions that make my and our lives worthwhile. Growing up in the County Seat of Sussex County NJ provided me with a unique perspective on agriculture, rural life and the need for responsible development.
Business Travel throughout the US and Internationally has exposed me to successful communities and some less so.
My career has been about identifying processes and workflow that can be improved through cooperation, automation and sometimes by starting over entirely. Understanding how big a change is and how fast those affected by the change will or won't cooperate is a big part of the equation.
Analyzing financial benefit for a process or an equipment purchase is almost always a part of any project. Developing resources to address future challenges is also something that I have often been asked to do.
Working on projects that have a beginning, middle and end within a budget and on time has been a daily part of my career. Encouraging change while respecting the history of institutions and Nonprofits has been a valuable experience.
Involvement in multiple recreational sports leagues has given me the opportunity to work with public and private recreational facilities across the Lehigh Valley and in New Jersey. Seeing how other communities prioritize youth recreation has been enlightening.
