One of the issues throughout the borough is speeding. Due to not having a police force, we need to rely on State Police. They have been helpful, but very stretched. I would, with the permission of Council, reach out to PennDOT to review their options. I tried this eight years ago without success, so I will definitely be hoping for a better response.
Communication with residents will also be a priority. Council is currently reviewing alternative ways. I will go door to door to get current contact information and send out texts/emails if the residents approve.
Finally, I would work with the Parks & Rec Committee, to research grants and fundraisers to improve the residents experience when using the borough's parks.
The main reason I'm running for the office of Mayor is because I miss it. After holding the office for eight years, I decided to not run and allow someone else to experience the blessing of promoting the borough. I have done a lot of reflecting the past four years and have realized that I miss the residents. I loved being their voice to council and getting back to them with a timely response.
As I stated earlier, I have served on both the borough's Planning Commission and the QAPC. I have been a longtime member of the Richlandtown Borough's Historical Society and served as a council member before being elected Mayor. During my eight years as mayor, I was able to forge many friendships throughout the borough. It was these relationships that allowed me to be informed of the needs and concerns of the residents. I was also able to reach out to other municipalities for help if needed. I am very outgoing and would love the opportunity to meet the newer residents and forge a relationship with them also.
