As part of my ongoing priorities, I am committed to: 1) strengthening fiscal oversight through early, ongoing collaboration with County Administration and the Budget Office to pursue long-term stability and continuous revenue opportunities; 2) working to attract new businesses and support the growth and retention of existing ones thereby strengthening our local economy; 3) leveraging my leadership on committees like the Housing Advisory Committee to update county codes that reflect residents' needs. I will continue to advocate for public safety investments and ensure communities have access to public transit, healthy foods, mental & behavioral health services, and sustainability initiatives to build safe, healthy, resilient neighborhoods.
I maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all council members, regardless of party affiliation, and approach decision-making thoughtfully, with thorough research and community input. I create and lead working groups and engage diverse sectors to gain differing views, advance county priorities and enhance council awareness. I regularly listen, inviting constituents to share concerns directly with council and attend many community meetings and events to understand viewpoints. I also work closely with state and federal partners to support county initiatives and meet residents’ needs.
