Education B.A. - 2004 University of Pittsburgh; J.D.- 2010 Duquesne University School of Law
As a public school graduate and Pine-Richland parent, I value strong, inclusive schools. I bring 15+ years of experience as a social worker, innocence lawyer, and professor at Duquesne and the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Law. My background in advocacy, fairness, and collaboration prepares me to make thoughtful, transparent decisions. I will ensure families have access to resources and the freedom to choose what’s right for their child, without imposing my own social values.
I would prioritize maintaining essential educational programs and services while seeking efficiencies that don’t harm students. I support exploring grants, partnerships, and advocacy for fair state funding. I would ensure transparency in budget decisions, seek community input, and critically evaluate expenses to protect classroom resources and avoid shifting the burden to families through excessive fees or cuts that limit opportunity.
I would support a curriculum and library that reflect educational value, diverse perspectives, and age-appropriate materials, guided by professional educators. I believe parents should have a voice in their child’s education, but no one family’s values should limit access for others. I will work to ensure families have choices and resources, respecting individual decisions while upholding every student’s right to learn.
