Biographical Information
What specific experience and qualifications make you the best candidate for for this position?
What steps will you take to strengthen public trust in local government and ensure that the decision-making process is transparent and accountable to residents?
What are your top three priorities for this office?
I am an aerospace engineer and Director of Technology at a major area aircraft company. I am the recent chair of the Delco Solid Waste Authority, and I have been a school board vice president and candidate for state representative.
I have mentored businesses in Chester City and underserved communities, and I currently coordinate the Delco Environmental Justice group and manage the Zero Waste Delco initiative in our county. I also manage internet communications for the Energy Justice Network fighting incineration and promoting zero waste practices. Recently, I started Operation Sunshine to encourage citizens to use sunshine laws to engage elected officials on issues affecting their community. I am a former Early Onset Alzheimer’s caregiver.
On April 3rd, I initiated modeling public engagement by hosting a local listening session. These need to be regular and common events in our community, and I plan to continue them throughout my campaign and continue them when elected. Elected officials cannot know all of the issues they will face in their roles and they have a duty to engage the public, to share key information with residents, and to be accountable for their actions.
Additionally, elected officials also have a responsibility to represent their community to the policy and power structure around them and to work to inform on issues and to speak up and out on matters affecting their community.
